GET USED TO IT

(Dendak and Gerber)

I feel much older than I'm feeling young.
I really wonder if life has just begun.
I feel much smarter, much wiser than I thought I'd be.
My life's been changing, think work has got the best of me.
It hurts sometimes to face the early day.
It seems this sweat shop, it's always getting in my way.

Smoked my last cigarette, forget about my pay.
My life's been changing, getting worse everyday.
I seem to tire quicker, faster than before.
You know by quitting time I'm halfway out the door.
I know I'm working my whole life away.
It'd be much better, well if they give me a little more pay.

It doesn't matter, guess I'll get used to it.
It just gets harder, 'cuz I get in deeper debt!
If I just went away, well who would take my place.
It doesn't matter, they'll just fill my empty space.

It's apparent nothing ever seems to go my way.
I wouldn't be here, if I didn't make the bills that I pay.
The bills get bigger, it's really getting bad.
This job has got to be the worst one that I've ever had.

It doesn't matter, guess I'll get used to it.
It just gets harder 'cuz I'm takin' all their shit.
The day is coming when I won't take no more.
It's getting harder and harder - it's getting hard to play this game.

They keep on telling us our lives are so damn good.
We work so hard for this lousy plaque that's made of cheap wood.
I guess I wonder what I'm doing in this place.
When I'm gone they'll just automate my empty space.

It doesn't matter, what we get out of it.
It just gets harder 'cuz we wallow in their shit.
The day is coming when we won't wallow no more.
It's getting harder and harder.
It's getting harder and harder.
It's getting harder and harder.
Someday we'll walk on out the door.
