The Beat 100.3 8th Annual Holiday Cooldown (Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles; December 13, 2000)
The event was hosted by Toni Braxton, and also included performances by Musiq, Avant, Dave Hollister, Carl Thomas, Jagged Edge, and Erykah Badu.  Tamia performed second, right after Musiq.  Her set started at 11:27pm (PST) and lasted about 14 minutes.  It started off with a brief intro clip of her singing Spend My Life With You, followed by her backup singers singing "Tamia" (what I call the "Tamia jingle", LOL).  The first song she performed was Can't Go For That.  Because the webcast was audio-only, I could not see what was going on, but I assume she was doing the dance thing as well.  The quality of the broadcast was really clear, and you could barely hear the audience background noise.  Next she performed Stranger In My House, which she did so well that it gave me chills when she hit the high notes.  Last, she sang Spend My Life With You (both her and Eric Benet's parts), which was followed by the last half of You Put A Move On My Heart.  Overall, I thought the performance was quite short, but I guess they have to fit all those artists in that one concert.  However, she put on an excellent performance, as she usually does.

Russ Paar Morning Show (KISS 107.9FM Cleveland, OH; July 5, 1999)
Tamia appeared on this syndicated Black morning radio show. Here is Matt's account of the interview:

"Just had to e-mail you because when I got in my car this morning, none other than TAMIA was on the radio. She was on the Russ Paar morning show, which is a syndicated Black morning show here in the States (I am not sure about the syndication though). I couldn't believe it. She DID NOT talk about Grant until they asked her about him. She was really nice. She mentioned her mom and how they now have gambling in Canada. She also said that Canada is very beautiful. But, of course, the DJ's had to throw in some Canada jokes. It's official....TAMIA IS NO LONGER A QWEST RECORDING ARTIST!!!! She proved the rumor true today. She said she is working with Sylvia Rhone now....planning new songs for the next album. Tamia mentioned that she is having more of a say in this album. She is no longer singing songs that she doesn't like (I guess that means that on Qwest she didn't like some of her hits). She said kids would come up to her and ask her to sing those songs she hates....she would just be like "No!!" (in the back of her head, of course).

"I didn't get to catch all of it, otherwise I would've been late to work. I am so proud of her now. She was very straightforward about Grant. She said that she doesn't like it when people know him and don't know her....because then she is referred to as "that girl that Grant is marrying". So there went all that trash talk on the website....right down the drain. She is grateful that she was successful BEFORE she met him. (These are all her words). One of the DJ's mentioned the rock she had on her hand....I am sure it is big!! She said she is very happy to be getting married.

"As for Eric Benet, she said she loved working with him. She said he is a very sweet person. She ended up doing that duet because her new record label presented her with the opportunity. Tamia said she listened to the song, and loved it. She likes "wedding songs" and loved working with Eric. The DJ's said the song brought tears to their eyes and it was very beautiful. They asked her what was it like working with someone so sexy. I forget her exact answer, but it was something to the effect of it never entered her mind. She mentioned how they were close in the video, but she wasn't thinking like that."

10th Annual YTV Achievement Awards (YTV; June 6, 1999)
Tamia was a past YAA! (YTV Achievement Awards) winner in 1993 in the vocal category, and returned for the 10th Anniversary awards show to present the vocal award to a young opera singer by the name of Trevor Bowes (from Victoria, BC). She wore a stunning beige dress and looked beautiful as ever. At the end of the 1 1/2 hour show (which was hosted by Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel from Boy Meets World), Tamia joined award winner Treveor Bowes, musical guests B*Witched, and the rest of the award winners in the closing song (I'm not sure what the song was called, but Tamia started it off and it was really nice).

She was a guest judge along with Boyz II Men's Wanya Morris as well as Curtis Blow. According to "Crystal", Tamia was the toughest judge there!

Soul Train (October 31, 1998)
Tamia performed twice during this appearance on Soul Train. For So Into You she wore black leather pants, black stilletto heeled boots, and a black sparkly stretchy halter top. Her hair was on top of her head in two girlish curly ponytails. She looked cute. She started out singing alone and then her 4 dancers came out. A brief interview followed this performance. Tamia said that she has been touring and that she has been on stage w/ anyone who has an album out now. She also said that she wants to get into acting. She turned to the camera and said, "Cast me". For Loving You Still, Tamia on the same outfit & hair except she wore a sparkly silver knit halter top (backless of course!). She looked great.

BET Planet Groove (BET; October 22, 1998)
Tamia appeared on the hour-long BET Planet Groove show as its weekly celebrity host. All she did was introduce videos before they were played. They showed So Into You in the beginning of the program, but that was the only Tamia video showed (we had hoped that they would show a new video of hers).

Century Club (club in L.A.) (October 18, 1998)
Tamia performed at another L.A. area club called Century Club. She did the same performance as the one at the Arena a few nights ago (Falling For You, Imagination, and So Into You), but she added a performance of Whitney Houston's Saving All My Love For You. She sang Whitney's song well, but she seemed disappointed that the sound system decided to act up in the middle of the song. She said she wanted to sing it b/c she used to sing it as a little girl with a hairbrush in front of the mirror. She was also much more friendly/chatty with the audience during this performance.

Arena: Rewind (nightclub in Hollywood) (October 15, 1998)
Tamia performed at a club in Hollywood called Arena: Rewind. She appeared pretty late, at around 1:30am, because she performed at another club Peppers earlier that night. The first song she performed was Falling For You. She had her hair in ringlets and she wore black cargo pants, with a black top (with silver sparkly things on it) and her Tamia trademark belly chain. Then it was Imagination and So Into You. She was shaking hands with everybody in front. When Jermaine Dupri's rap part came up in Imagination, she had someone from the audience flow the verse.

4th Annual Soul Train Lady Of Soul Awards (September 3, 1998)
Although Tamia did not get nominated for any Lady Of Soul awards (which kinda sucks), she presented the Best Jazz Album award along with Changing Faces and Maestro Clark. The winner of the award was Diana Krall.

CNN Showbiz Today (CNN; August 5, 1998)

This concert sponsored by local radio station KS107.5 included performers Tamia, Link, Mya, PM Dawn, Silk E Fyne, Montell Jordan, and LL Cool J.

Impact Convention (Reno, Nevada; April 29, 1998)
In a Friday evening dinner show hosted by Polygram, all the stars came out. Elegance was the word that embraced this evening gala as stars like Chico DeBarge and Joe, and Eryka Baduh performed their hit songs. But even with the likes of Bille Woodruf, Tatyana M. Ali, and Puff Daddy within arms reach I wasn't the only one silenced and mesmerized when the lights went down and Tamia's dancers entered to take their places for the intro of what everyone knew to be Imagination, Tamia's first released single off her new self-entitled debut album. Tamia finally entered casually from stage right, wearing a body sculpting black hook-up, that left me breathless. Camera crews and on-lookers rushed to the stage to get an upclose look or picture of the world's eighth wonder. With an array of colored lights and a clear sexy voice Tamia performance made the statement "Hey, I'm here to stay!" She then followed up with a transition into what I made out to be a re-mix version that was even better than the original . As I looked around all I saw was heads moving from side to side in rhythm. She also performed her first hit You Put A Move On My Heart. I met her as she was on her way to do her mic check, I asked for a picture and she said she was late but to catch her afterwards. I had the very dinstinct pleasure of seeing her do her mic check, and hearing her natural voice with no mic effects, she really does have the most beautiful voice. Afterwards even though she was in a rush...I did get my picture. Thanks Tamia.

Da Mix (Much Music; April 25, 1998)
Tamia returned to the Much Music environment the day after her appearance at the Canadian music channel's Electric Circus show. This time, she appeared on the hip-hop show Da Mix (hosted by Master T). Her appearance started with her "ringing the doorbell" (Canadian fans, you know what I'm talking about), and she walked into the Much environment with the four dancers. Tamia and Master T. sat on a table and the dancers sat on another table behind Tamia. Through the large window, you can see many fans outside (I think most of them were young girls) jumping up and down and banging on the window. (Unfortunately, I think most of them were more interested in being on camera than seeing Tamia). Master T. began talking about the last time he interviewed her (it was on the day of the OJ Simpson verdict in 1995, in New York City, on a building rooftop). They talked about her Canadian roots (she was born in Windsor, Ontario), how she frequently travels back home, and how she recorded her first single You Put A Move On My Heart (in the dark). Then Master T. asked her questions about the album and how it was like to work with Jermaine Dupri and stuff like that. Master T. told her that his favorite track on the album is So Into You because it has a laid back, summertime feel to it. Tamia said that they were currently still considering which song would be the second release off the album, and would take So Into You into consideration. She said that her favorite song off the album is Rain On Me because she was sad at the time she wrote the song. After the interview, she performed Falling For You. During the interview, they played the music video for You Put A Move On My Heart (which was very rarely played on Much Music), and Imagination.

Electric Circus (Much Music; April 24, 1998)
Tamia appeared on Canadian music channel Much Music's weekly dance show Electric Circus during her Canadian promo tour in the Toronto area. Tamia appeared live at the taping of the show at the ChumCity Building at 299 Queen Street W., Downtown Toronto to the EC dancers and hundred or so fans outside. Tamia started of by performing Imagination. After the performance, EC hostess Juliette Powell excaimed "that girl wasn't lip-synching!" (because Tamia sounded to good live! After that, hostess Juliette interviewed her and asked her questions from fans (people were asked to fax in questions for Tamia during the show). (Tamia looked pretty short in person, especially standing next to someone as tall as Juliette Powell). Here are some stuff that Tamia revealed about herself. Her favorite singer is gospel singer CeCe Winans. She enjoys listening to all type of music including R&B, hip hop (Notorious BIG), and even country music (Wynonna Judd). She revealed that she recently sang a duet with Wynonna called Love Shouldn't Hurt which should be out in June. Tamia then introduced her 4 dancers: Lizette, Carolina, Diana and "Nasty-Nessa" (Vanessa). These were the same dancers with her on her BET Planet Groove and Sprite Night appearances. Over-all, it was a pretty good performance by Tamia. I was fortunate enough to be outside in the crowd when she performed, but I didn't have a good view of the performance or interview because of the huge crowd. However, when I watched the show later on (on tape), she looked NICE!

Quincy Jones: The First 50 Years (ABC; April 11, 1998)
Hosted by Oprah Winfrey, this television special was a concert in celebration of Quincy Jones' 50 years in the entertainment business. It included performances by Tevin Campbell, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, Tamia, and others. Tamia performed You Put A Move On My Heart.

Quincy Jones, Tamia, & Tevin Campbell

Soul Train (April 11, 1998)
Tamia appeared on the April 11, 1998 airing of Soul Train. She performed Imagination outfitted in black hip hugger slacks and a black leather sleeveless wrap around top. Her hair was braided and she wore large gold hoop earrings and long black leather gloves to complete the ensemble (same outfit/hair from Sprite Nite). She was accompanied by her four dancers and performed the short version without the rap. During the interview with the host Tamia stated that she was a little nervous about the project and that she was blessed that Quincy Jones took her under his wing. She named the producers she worked with, joked about this being her first album not her second and agreed to come back later to do another song! Tamia's second performance was Falling for You, joined again with her dancers she executed both song and choreography with beautiful style and grace.

Vibe (April 10, 1998):
Tamia appeared on the nighttime talkshow Vibe in which she performed and did an interview with host Sinbad. She performed Imagination which included Jermaine Dupri doing his rap part. She started off sitting in a chair (same as the one in the Imagination video) and then got up and danced with her four back-up dancers. After that, she did an interview with Sinbad. This has to be one of the best interviews I've seen of Tamia because she seemed laid back and cool. Sinbad surprised her by showing a clip of her when she was about 12 years old, singing the Whitney Houston song You Give Good Love (she even sounded good as a child!). She revealed that it was Anita Baker who hooked up her with Grant Hill, and that on their first date, he intentionally forgot his wallet to test her. At the end of the interview, Sinbad requested that Tamia sing a little of You Put A Move On My Heart because it touched him so much. She sang it so perfectly even though it was on the spot (which proves that she is not one of those "studio-produced/edited" singers, this girl has talent!) I don't know if this is the same as other parts of North America or if it was only on my local TV station (in Buffalo, NY), but right after Tamia's appearance on Vibe, they immediately showed a commercial (sponsored by Camelot Music) for Tamia's new album, in which they showed the cover image of her new album and the video for Imagination. I just thought it was cool that this happened...

BET Planet Groove (BET; March 23, 1998):
Tamia appeared on BET's Planet Groove to chat with host Rachel and perform some of her hit songs. First she performed a shortened version of You Put A Move On My Heart which flowed into a new song from her upcoming album Falling For You. Then she sat down for an interview with Rachel, in which she discussd where she grew up (Windsor, Canada), how she got her break (she met Quincy Jones at an awards show in Las Vegas), her relationship with Grant Hill (they're just going out), and why it took so long for her album to come out. After that, she performed Imagination. She was on the show for about 45 minutes, with many music videos in between (but none were her videos though). Overall, it was the most in-depth interview with Tamia that I've ever seen.

Sprite Night '98 (BET; February 26, 1998):
Tamia appeared on this BET concert special on the eve of the Soul Train Music Awards. She appeared along with Immature, Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz, Def Squad, Jermaine Dupri, and other hiphop/R&B acts. Tamia performed her new single Imagination. Her hair was braided like a "Snoop Doggy Dogg" or "Bone Thugs N Harmony" style (sorry, that's the only way I could describe it). She performed her song, and danced with the back-up dancers (similar to her Imagination music video).

NBC Friday Night (NBC; Spring 1998?):
Tamia appeared on this NBC Friday late night variety show and performed Imagination. I'm not sure exactly when she appeared on the show, I just saw a "Best Of..." episode of NBC Friday Night a few months later and showed a clip of Tamia performing; assuming that it was when her single first came out.

R&B 97: Summer Jams (summer 1997):
A TV music special featuring Warner Music Group acts such as En Vogue, Changing Faces, Eric Benet and Tamia.

Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997):
Supporting role as Sheri Silver, a featured performer at the dinner theatre on the cruise ship. She acts in quite a few scenes (singing Make Tonight Beautiful, escaping the crazed hijaker, running in the halls).

1997 Soul Train Music Awards:
(Along with Snoop Doggy Dogg & Immature) presented Best R&B Soul/Rap Music Video Award to Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony for Tha Crossroads.

BET UnReal's "SoSo Def's 12 Soulful Nights of Christmas Special (1996):
This special aired on Black Entertainment Television during the 1996 Holiday season with the release of the Christmas R&B compilation CD 12 Soulful Nights of Christmas. She appeared with Xscape, Brian McKnight, Faith Evans, and other singers from the album, and she even performed The Christmas Song which appears on the CD. The special re-aired on BET during the 1997 Holiday season, so watch out for it to air again in '98.

(M.Shae Smith was fortunate enough to attend the taping and take pictures with the artists, including Tamia! Thanks Shae!)

Oprah Winfrey Show (June 11, 1996):
As part of a show devoted to Quincy Jones' album Q's Jook Joint, in which she performed You Put A Move On My Heart and did an interview.
