My All That Experience

What did I do on July 7th, you may ask? I sat in the fifth row at Nickelodeon's All That Music and More Festival and saw some awesome performers and had an awesome time. I now know that there is life away from an 'N Sync concert! Anyway, here's my review of the All That concert.

*NOTE*: You are listening to "The First Night" by Monica.

Well, I went with seven friends and my mother (I know... keep reading, though) and one of my mother's friends. The mothers didn't sit with us. They had their own seats, a row and a few seats over behind us, and VIP passes. Anyway, so we got there in small groups and it was amazingly HOT and crowded and we were all shoved into this little space where everyone was waiting to get to their seats... I thought this was our death wish, but obviously it was not if I'm writing this.

We FINALLY got inside to our seats and found out that we had fifth row, which kicked so much butt! We were so close and I took a whole roll of film, and the pictures are amazing! There was some random DJ there, on tour with the All That tour, and he kept playing 'N Sync and BSB, who, to my amusement, had more of a fan following there than the groups/performers actually there. These skanky girls came, one had a skimpy pink tube top and a literally non-existent skirt that showed so much more than I wanted to see, and they had stuffed animals and a scrapbook for No Authority, because apparently NA's manager called them on the phone and asked them to come meet NA... yeah. I don't know if that's true of not, but they did go backstage, so maybe.

After a short while and the amphitheater/lawn were filled with people, the All That cast, rather, three of the cast (including hot Josh, I think his name is... enjoyable) came out. That wasn't too great, and you could really tell that the All That sitcom is really focused on kids. They introduced No Authority, who in person are so hot! They can't take pictures, but damn. We were just sitting there, while a whole bunch of random girls were just screaming and jumping around... we laughed at the girls, but enjoyed looking at No Authority. I particularly enjoyed looking at Tommy, if that's his name. He's a hot one. My friend Alex, whom I dragged because she is such a Korn/Limp Bizkit/Orgy/Rammstein/Kid Rock person, told me that if any of the NA guys pointed or looked at her, she would give them the finger... needless to say, she didn't when one of them did point at her. I wanted her to... that would have seriously amused me. So aside from being hot, they were pretty good and I would definitely tape their song off the radio, although not buy their CD. I would, though, buy a picture!

They finished their set, and the DJ did a few more songs, the All That three came back and introduced Aaron Carter, and my friend Renada and I decided that it would be fun to be really old and screaming for him so we got up and starting freaking out. We'd never heard him, and he was eleven, but even then we weren't the oldest! All these busty girls were loving him. He cut his hair, and I think he looks like Anakin Skywalker, but that was just me. For a kid, he dressed like a pimp and was pretty good, and WAY TOO MUCH was like his brother! But he was really cute, and threw candy to the audience and was just the most adorable thing. He will grow up to be hot and he has reservoirs of sex appeal; just none that appealed to me. Maybe in a few years.

Again, DJ and All That. Then it was a group called EYC, which stands for Express Yourself Clearly. You could tell that they were much more about dancing than singing, because their songs weren't that great and while their dancing was excellent, their singing was only so-so. There are three of them, and one is damn hot (looks kind of like Mark McGrath) but the other two aren't that good looking. It was so funny... this girl a few rows behind me had this little sign that said "I Love You!" and she was sobbing throughout their whole set... I don't know about her. (Let me just say that by now the mothers were laughing hysterically... they'd also been to the VIP tent but passed up NA's autographs because they didn't know who they were. Damn.) So yeah, much easier on the eye than the ear. And only one of them, at that!

So the DJ went on again, and the All That three came out with a wrestling skit, and asked for volunteers. Who went up? None other than the skanky tube top/nonexistent skirt girl. I kept waiting for her clothes to just fall off when they asked the volunteers to do push-ups... she didn't. Anyway, Tatyana was on next, and her set was the same as it was with 'N Sync except for the fact that she added "Wild Wild West" into her Will Smith dance medley. She was so awful with her self-promotion... EVERY PERFORMER, even 98 Degrees, said something to the extent of "Here's my current single... in stores now." It was so shocking, but understandable.

Then three of us (including myself) went out to get fried dough, and we saw that No Authority was there, so we ran toward them to announce their hotness... they left before we got there because young, violent girls were chasing them. We got our fried dough, and realized, walking back, that in the lobby, there were screens showing the audience, focusing in on random members. Monica had just started when we got back to our seats, so we sat there and quietly discussed how odd it was to be eating fifteen feet in front of Monica, and then how the camera projecting the audience images to the screens in the lobby had probably been on us with sugar and sauce all over our faces... yes, probably. Anyway, Monica cut her hair, it's really short and looks really good, and her costumes were so cool! She's so pretty. Her dancers were simply amazing, I loved that, and her set was a castle and she had a little tiara and all. She did "Angel of Mine," "First Night," "Street Symphony," and a few off of her first album... no "The Boy Is Mine," I guess because Brandy wasn't there. During "AOM" a dancer came out with wings and all... it was cool, and there were explosions... scary, but cool.

Then the audience started going crazy, of course for 98 Degrees, and the DJ announced them... the beginning was very similar to the first 'N Sync tour's beginning, with the space-ish suits and all. But it was awesome! They did all of their songs and just looked SO hot! Especially my personal favorite, Drew. I took like ten pictures of them, and at one point he took off the hat, which I don't like much because he has great hair, but I didn't want to use my picture and he put it right back on... I missed my big chance! Anyway, Justin was loving Alex, he just stared at her the whole time, and at one point I made split-second eye-contact with Jeff. Nice, but it's not Drew. Anyway, I loved them, and I recommend their concert!

So the concert was over and there was crap everywhere, including soda spilled on my nice white sweater, and it took ages to get out, but anyway Alex and I took the passes and went to the VIP area, and who did we see? Yeah... nobody. But they had been there... we just went too late. Darn it all. Anyway, all in all it was a great time, and the seats were great and the pictures should be great... I really liked it!
