A Fan's Story...(i.e. A little about me...)

Intro... Hi! I'm Deb, I am 30 years old and live in the Seattle, WA (USA) area. I have been a fan since I was a little kid. That was back in the Thriller days, when I quickly found out that other songs I had liked from when I was even younger (for instance, 'Rock With You' and 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough') were also by Michael. I guess you could say then that I've been a fan since the late '70s but didn't know it until 1983. All the way through school I had every INCH of my walls covered with MJ pictures, I listened to him constantly, I could answer ANY MJ trivia question tossed my way...I was a bonafide FANATIC! As time went on and I grew up (errr...well, a little...) I began archiving my MJ stuff for safekeeping and no, my apartment is not decorated ala MJ :-)

Continued... Even as time went on I never lost touch with that little 12-year old girl inside, sitting by the window crying because she didn't get to the Victory Tour in Denver (I grew up in Colorado), vowing "I love you Michael...and I ALWAYS will...forever...no matter what anyone else says or what ever happens." Okay, so that's sappy...a little TOO sappy for my public persona... cough.... cough... oh heck, but true. Even in the worst of times (and you know what times I'm referring to) I have never waivered in my support of Michael. And as an adult I stood in line at Tower Records at midnight to be the first to get my hands on 'History'. I felt like I was the only one in the U.S. who bought 'Blood on the Dancefloor' right away (yes, I know there are others of you out there...it just felt that way.) I will also be standing outside the record store to be among the first to get my hands on 'Invincible'...you can COUNT on it!

What to say to Michael... Only once so far have I had the amazingly wonderful experience of seeing Michael in concert. That was in Denver, CO in 1988 on the Bad Tour. Wow! I have been praying for another U.S. tour ever since. I also have had two brief   brushes with Michael...one on a Denver freeway the day of the concert and the other on Main Street in Disneyland in 1987. Of course, my biggest dream as a child was to MEET Michael, which, alas, has yet to occur. However now I would not squeal, cry, almost faint and gushingly declare my undying love to him like a 12-yr old. No, now I would only like to tell him how much I enjoy all he does, how much his music has meant to me for 20 years, how much his message has meant to me and how, however 'crazy' this may make me, he kept something alive in me in the darkest times and gave me a smile and the strength to keep going. I would like to thank him with utter sincerity for giving us the gift of his music, his voice and whatever that is he's got that makes us scream, faint, cry and gushingly declare our undying love. Oh...and anxiously wait, twitching with edge-of-the-seat anticipation, for a new album! Thank you, Michael. You truly are magic. I love you forever. Thank you forever.
