How It All Got Started

First of all, Brandy was the one who brainstormed this great idea. She says "It was my idea to work with Monica," "I kind of felt like since everyone thought that Monica and I didn't get along and there was so much competition between us, I figured if we came together and did a song we could hush all that up and we could just let people know we're cool, and we're just trying to be successful young black teenagers."
Brandy says when she first called Monica, she didn't believe it was her, so she had to sing for Monica for her to believe it. So she asked Monica to do a song with her and she said she had been thinking about doing that too. So the next wek Monica went down to Atlanta and she and Monica went shopping together, hung out, and went to Magic Mountain together.
