According to UK mag 'Metal Hammer' (Oct issue), Bush's 4th album will be delivered to Trauma by the end of Sept '98 (plan to go into the studio around May). Songwriting (officially) starts in January/98. Producer still tba.

CRIA, which monitors Canadian record sales, confirmed that as of Nov/97, Sixteen Stone sales are at 600,000 units and RBSC are at 500,000 units. (Thanks to Phil for this info.)

RBSC was #2 on The Edge's (Toronto) Countdown of 102 Cds of '97; Oasis was #1 (thanks alot to Erin for the info). RBSC was #34 & Sixteen Stone #16 on the station's top 102 albums of the '90s.

The Edge's lead news story Oct 23 was based on a quote from Gavin that he plans on another couple of Bush albums before moving into solo work. This was taken from UK mag The Melody Maker's interview with him in Thailand; see thenews of the world section for more.

The Goldie re-mix of 'Swallowed' is on the soundtrack for Bruce Willis' flick "The Jackal".

NEW ALBUM (check out some reviews): Out Nov 11, Deconstructed features remixed tracks from 16Stone & RBSC, plus one cover, New Order's In a Lonely Place (also on Crow 2 soundtrack), re-done by Tricky. The first single, Mouth, is a Stingray (aka Gavin/Nigel/Dave Dorrell)/Madgroove re-tool. The video for it was shot the weekend of Sept 20th. directed, again, by brilliant filmaker John Hillcoat. This 1st aired on MM around October 16. The song is also featured on the soundtrack for the movie American Werewolf in Paris, in theatres Dec 25. The star of that, Julie Delpy, appears in the video.

The Bush Home Video, Alleys & Motorways, out Nov 18, features 90 mins of videos, b/s & live footage and more - from a '92 club gig to '97's Reading Festival.

A little bird (Rob Kahane) told me that gavin's new material is more like 16st than RBSC, sort of along the lines of 'Comedown'. What finally makes it onto the cd is of course still open, but that's what I heard.

Sept 17, a Bush Interview CD (Cdn.) was released featuring July/Nov 96 interviews at a Toronto radio station.

Bonedriven was shown on MM the week of Sept 8th., having premiered on MTV-UK a few weeks earlier.

The Bush song 'Old' is on the latest ESPN X-games soundtrack cd, the first time the song has been released except for bootlegs and the 'Spin Sessions' radio interview. You can hear Old here.

Bush will reportedly cover 'Janie Jones' on a Clash tribute album (Ark 21 Records); release date still tba.

a live version of "Comedown" is on US Radio station LIVE X's "R.A.I.N.N. Songs" CD, released summer '97 in the US. R.A.I.N.N. is a charity co-founded by Tori Amos to help rape and incest victims.

The video for Personal Holloway, shot in Dublin Spring/97, premiered on MM around June 20, and in the US on Rage TV. No N.American single was released.

Cold Contagious competed against the Backstreet Boys on the May 25 Combat and lost by about 3000 votes, finishing with 14,525.

Bush's single Cold Contagious was released (in the US) April 22. The video, directed by Marc LeBon with treatment by Gavin, premiered on MM May 1.

The second single from Razorblade Suitcase, Greedy Fly, steadily climbed the Canadian charts (#5/March 17th) and the video was Much Music's "Choice Cut" for the 1st week of Feb/97.

The Swallowed video was finally defeated on MM's "Combat des Clip" show. It had been voted favourite video for 10(?) consecutive weeks, but eventually lost(with over 3000 votes) to Silverchair. The Greedy Fly video went up against that band again in the March 9th. Combat and lost with 9641 votes.

For a limited time, the RBSC CD-ROM was available free at Sam the Record Man, with the purchase of a Bush album or Much Music's Big Shiny Tunes Compilation. "Fans" now command as much as $100 for one.

As of Spring/97, Bush had sold more than a million records in Canada, their highest selling market on a per capita basis in the world.
