Hanson Complete Work on Long Awaited New Album
Worldwide Tour to Follow
NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1999--Island Def Jam recording group Hanson is wrapping up work on their long-awaited new album, due for release in May. The still-untitled work finds the sibling trio - namely Isaac, Taylor and Zac - taking the creative lead as both sole songwriters and co-producers. The brothers teamed in the studio with producer Stephen Lironi (Black Grape, Fun Loving Criminals, Jon Bon Jovi) and vocal producer Mark Hudson (Aerosmith), part of the team that produced Hanson's 1997 multi-platinum debut, Middle of Nowhere. Recorded in Los Angeles, the new album features guest appearances from such stand-out artists as Jonny Lang, DJ Swamp (Beck), and John Popper (Blues Traveler), along with Rose Stone and her choir (Sly and the Family Stone).
In conjunction with the new album's release, Hanson will embark on an extensive worldwide tour. A complete itinerary will be announced early next year.
In the two short years since its release, the critically cheered Middle of Nowhere has gone on to score total worldwide sales in excess of 8 million. Rolling Stone listed the band's debut among their ``Essential Albums'' of the 90s, saying: ``Their virtues were simple: good songs, good looks. But the brothers Hanson had good teachers the whole of rock history, as captured on the Time-Life anthology from which they learned how to play - and they proved that rock would go forward on the lessons of its past.''
Other Hanson albums include 1997's RIAA double-platinum Snowed In, and 1998's platinum Three Car Garage (a collection of their earlier demo recordings) and 1998's gold Live From Albertane.
