What I Did On My 1997 Summer Vacation:
Falcon Ridge Memories
The Quick and DirtyWell, I've finally had a real shower, so I guess it's not that dirty. What I did was travel north for about 7 hours with my good friend Jennifer Fentress to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. There's so much to say about this most beautiful of weekends that I'll never get it all posted. In short, we made it up there Thursday night and met up with our e-mail buddies from the Darlist, finally put some faces to names (even in the dark, though I fear I may have blinded Kerry with Jennifer's lantern!), and soon realized that the people behind the e-mail addys are among the nicest I will ever meet! Oh yeah, and there was some really great music there too. Rather than wait for photos to be developed and all, I plan to post this page in pieces, adding to it as frequently as I can, so come back and visit--you'll find more each time. |
First Things First: The Gift Jennifer & I have met Dar Williams a couple of times. Usually it's after a show somewhere where there's a line of people waiting for autographs. We're inevitably all giddy with admiration and can't manage to say much more than a heartfelt 'thanks'. This time we had a plan. We wanted to give her a gift...something meaningful, something personal which would reflect our gratitude--something unique and sincere. But in the end we decided to go the low road instead and give her something silly. Don't get me wrong, it's still meaningful, personal, reflective of our gratitude, and unique. Well, I guess it's even sincere in a round-about sort of way. So here it is: the publicity photo. We've given Dar Williams and her lovely cellist Stephanie Winters full license to use this photo to convince Renaissance Pictures that they have a place on Xena: Warrior Princess as Gab's & Xena's long-lost minstrel cousins. Ya ready? Enjoy! |
