Magnetism
Magnetism is very common to
everything you see, for it is
an essential ingredient for light
itself. The term magnetism
comes from a rock called
lodestones. In the twelfth
century the chinese used
them for navigating ships,
lodestone got its name from
its uses in navigation
lode=lead, lodestone = (lead
ingstone). We discoverd
magnets exerted forces on
current carrying wires, which
led to electric motors and
meters. It was a whole new
technology which would
bring electric powerd radio,
and television. Nature was
revealing another one of
its secrets.
