V/A The Emo Diaries Chapter 1 & 2 CD Deep Elm's series of compilation tries hard to document the bands that make up of the 'emo' genre. And they have succeeded in a way. The series entitled "What's mine is yours" and "A million miles away". Consists of a list of bands that could stir strong emotion like no other. Each has a different style, different message, a different kind of emotion to each different person. Having bands like Camber, Jejune, Pohgoh, Jazz June, Pop Unknown, and a whole bunch of new bands to conquer their league of this genre, which is almost turning into a category itself. Going the way of grunge, techno or retro, let's hope this doesn't fade away the same way like the others, if it ever goes mainstream. Deep Elm sure are one of the leaders of the emo scene already. The series is still in the works with Chapter 3 coming out soon

V/A Definitely Not the Majors

Well one thing is for sure the bands here are not suitable for major labels. With bands like Bloodlet, Coalesce, Earthmover, Catharsis, Ascension, etc the compilation just get heavier and heavier. The band that stands out are definitely Sons of Abraham. With their style of metalhardcore they sure can break the generic sound of hardcore which is getting quite stale.
