Don't waste your time
Yahoo-ing around!
Come travel Across The Universe with us and check out the latest news and
the most interesting Beatle sites on the
web! Got a good site that others need to know about? Then send an
Email to Pepperland and we'll review
your suggestion for possible addition to this page.
BEST NEWS SITES
- Abbeyrd's Beatle
Page
The easiest way to keep up on Beatle news. Steve Marinucci reports all
the fab news and does a good job of summarizing everything new with the
Beatles.
-
Infoseek
If you can't start your "Good Morning, Good Morning" without a dose of
Beatle news, then head over to Infoseek's personal news page. Type in
keywords like "Beatles, Paul McCartney, etc." in the "Entertainment" box
and Infoseek will pull up any Beatle news for you every day. Splendid!
"OFFICIAL" SITES
-
Official McCartney Site
Perhaps not done with the personal touch of a fan's site, Paul's site is
the place to go for Macca news and Club Sandwich, his fan magazine.
- Abbey Road Studios Official Site
If you can't get to the real Abbey Road, then visit the site and take a virtual tour.
Make sure you write your name on the wall before you leave.
- Ringo 1997 Tour
OK, the tour is over but the website is still up! Keep this one bookmarked if you hope to catch Ringo next time he comes to your town - I bet he'll use the same URL for the next tour.
BEST INFO-TAINMENT SITES
-
Steve Clifford's Beatle Website
Perhaps the title isn't that original, but this is a great website with
a nice humorous piece on Beatle collecting. Nice layout and great
graphics makes this a fun place to visit.
- Rubber Souled
This one has a really funny section on "Misheard Beatle Lyrics". For
example, ever think that "She's got a ticket to ride" was actually "She's got a
tick in her eye?" Lots more where that one came from!
- Internet Beatles Album
This is worth the trip just to see the opening page, which looks like a real Capitol record
label. Venture inside for quality Beatle stories such as the real story behind "Paul is
Dead" and "Better Than Jesus". Dare I say this site is better than the Pope's site?
- The
Rec.Music.Beatles Homepage
Rec.music.beatles, or RMB, is the official newsgroup for the band. Well,
as "official" as it gets, I guess. You won't find Sir Paul posting, and
most of the time you get mindless posts like "Is Paul Dead? I NEED TO
KNOW!" or "Oasis kicks on Beatles", but at one time (and still sometimes)
offers insight to the fabs that you could get nowhere else. Saki is the
leader and has posted the the best stuff here.
- Obvious Moose Beatle
Page
This one gets a quick nod, a short visit and a chuckle or two. Not bad,
this one. Original writings make it worth a visit, but lack of updates
questions whether it deserves a bookmark.
MOST OBSESSIVE SITES
- All About the Beatles Butcher
Cover
Not only is this a great site if you are curious about the Butcher Cover, but it also
just goes to show that there are Beatle fans more obsessed than you are out there.
Excellent site, very entertaining, and good pics of the boys covered with meat. Use this
one to illustrate to your significant other that you have NOT gone over the edge - yet.
- Introducing The Beatles
A website devoted to VeeJay's "Introducing The Beatles" album? Yes it is! Detailed information for the collector. Don't get burned buying a counterfeit!
BEST BOOTLEG INFO SITES
- Bootlegs
Harold Gernhardt does a thorough job cataloging the various bootlegs. Reviews and
quality scans. With boots getting so hard to get (due to the misdirected crackdown from
the FBI who are trying to stamp out the Beatles), this is as close as you might get to
the illicit recordings.
- Zekeland
Beatles Page
This page does ramble a bit, but Zeke is responsible for the now-defunct Beatles Bootleg
Central, easily the best collection of RA outtakes on the net. Recently shut down (by
whom??), keep this site handy in case he starts it back up. Bookmark
what's left of Bootleg Central
and hope it comes back in some form or fashion.
- The Inner Light An offshoot of the original Beatles Bootleg Central. This one promises to grow, so check it out and bookmark it.
- Beatles
Bootleg Archives
Excellent! A listing of virtually every bootleg out there, with some
cover scans and comments on the discs. If you like boots, you'll spend a ton of time
here.
-
Beatles Bootlegs
Catchy title, huh? But like Beatles Bootleg Archives, this one lists tons
of boots. I know that most of these will be hard to get (or impossible to
get!), but it's still fun knowing what's been out there.
BEST PICTURE SITES
- Pepperland Picture Archive
I owe a great big "thank you" to this site. When I first started Pepperland:
Where Nothing Is Real, I desperately needed pictures for my site. I found
them at the most complete picture archive on the net. I'm slowly replacing
them with my own scanned pics, but without Pepperland Picture Archives
I could not have finished my site. Thanks again!
BEST MERCHANDISE OR MEMORABILIA SITES
- Fab 4 Superstore
Well designed site with lots of stuff to sell. Good way to keep up to
date on what's available, and fun to browse around as well. Have your
credit card handy!
- Beatlefest Catalog
Another big site with lots of shirts, books, and new memorbilia for sale.
Don't expect to find anything really rare here, but a great place to spend
some time if you want to browse their virtual store.
- Pepperland
Music
Mike runs the best Beatle store in Southern California. Bookmark his site
and give him a call if you need anything. He'll give you personal service
and ship anything you want out to you in a few days. This is our
"sister" site (designed by me), so I think you'll enjoy the visit. Monthly specials and an "Ask Mike" section where you can get the answers to your collectible questions.
