Simon LeBon: His first group was a punk combo called Dog Days. At age 5 he was in a commercial for Persil. He changed careers many times. He began studying drama. Then he auditioned for Duran Duran and made quite an impression on them. He got into music for the usual reasons as well as to get respect from his father.

Nick Rhodes: He got his "O" levels, however, didn't want to get a regular job. The only invaluable things he learned were about people and psychology. He views videos as an art form. He got married August 18, 1984 to Julie Anne Friedman. He also likes Grace Jones, leather, and Dustin Hoffman. He doesn't like dishonesty, map-reading, heavy metal, or business meetings.

Duran Duran - The Story: Some information on how they got their name (the bad guy in the scifi flick, Barbarella), the support of the Berrows Brothers, The usual story of how the band formed, their hits, their videos, their tours, the pop polls, etc.

John Taylor: He took little interest in school and failed his "A" levels. He was still accepted at art college. He talks about animosity between him and Simon because many of the group's female fans prefer John to Simon, although they were able to make up. The band has refused to do an interview with NME since 1981. At the time this book came out John was engaged to Janine Andrews (actress in the James Bond movie Octopussy). He likes fast cars, tv, and fresh orange juice. He dislikes megalomania and arrogance.

Andy Taylor: His father and grandfather were fishermen. When the fishing industry declined his father became a carpenter. His mother left the family right around his 11th year. By age 13 his first band played their first gig. He was a black sheep and dropped out of school. Prior to Duran Duran Andy had played 600 gigs. His first impression of the other guys in Duran Duran was that they were weird. He caught a rare disease after accidentally drinking some polluted water while filimg with the elephants during the Sri Lanka video shoot. He likes food, vitamins, and brandy. He dislikes arty conversation.

Roger Taylor: A "Brummie" like John and Nick. Roger's fashion preferences were American Forties suits and baseball shirts. He has a dry sense of humor as does Andy. He is a quiet, shy, very private person. He is married to Giovanna. He likes Marlon Brando, Phil Collins, baggy suits and Tony Curtis hair cuts. He dislikes science fiction, ignorance, flying, and whiskey.
