Chapter Four: Crimes and Arrivals

"Morning Nick," Brian said, his hair still dripping wet from his shower. "I'm so ready for a day off."

"You seem awfully chipper today,' Nick groaned. "Must've been the company last night."

"What?" Brian asked. "Oh. Leigh?"

"Yeah," Nick said. "Leigh."

"For a seventeen year old she's pretty smart," Brian said, grimacing inside. Not only had he gotten drunk and kissed a girl who was not Dallas, she had been seventeen. She had kinda bolted the night before after they had kissed, after an uncomfortable conversation and an agreement that "nothing happened."

"I wouldn't know," Nick said.

"Are you mad?" Brian asked. "Oh crap. You wanted to spend time with her. I'm sorry. I was kinda rude last night and I gave her permission to go."

"Whatever," Nick said.

The phona (Note from Malory: Phona?) rang on the bed table. "Hello?" Brian asked. "Yeah, we're free today...Hats and sunglasses?... I'm sure AJ has some we can borrow...Half an hour...I'm sure...Yeah, I'll make sure he's there. Later ...Yeah...Bye."

"What was that all about?" Nick asked.

"A surprise," Brian said, grinning.

Brian walked next door to AJ's room. "Bone, you got some sunglasses Nick and I could borrow?"

AJ snorted. "Do I have sunglasses?" He handed Brian a pair with read (Note from Malory: No, my sister CAN'T type. that's supposed to be 'red') lenses and another pair with blue lenses.

"Thanks man," Brian said.

"No prob. Whatcha doin'?" AJ asked.

"Leigh's taking Nick and me to Six Flags," Brian smiled. "Now we have disguises."

AJ grinned. "Hey B-Rok, you know Six Flags is mostly roller coasters. Big, tall ones, right?"

"Yeah. Sure," Brian said, trying to act confident.

"Hey wait!" AJ said. "Is Cordelia going too?"

"I think so," Brian said.

"She promised to take me shopping," AJ said.

"You can shop alone," Brian said.

"That's no fun!" AJ complained.

"She's twelve," Brian commented.

"Yeah, so?" AJ asked. "I'm gonna kidnap her. She's fun."

Whatever," Brian laughed.

He went back to his room. Nick was putting on a Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey. "Catch!" Brian said, throwing Nick the red sunglasses."

"Thanks," Nick said. "AJ's gonna kidnap your video buddy," Brian said.

Nick was about to reply, but there was a knock on the door. Brian opened the door, expecting to see Leigh, but was instead confronted with a smiling red-head.

"Dallas!" Brian exclaimed, picking his girlfriend up and twirling her around.

"Hey Bri!" Dallas laughed. "I got outta work."

"Great!" Brian exclaimed. Leigh peeked in the open door.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Hey Leigh," Brian said. "This is Dallas MacKenzie. Dal, this is Leigh Taylor."

"Nice to meet you," Dallas said.

"Same here," Leigh said. "Maybe Brian won't be depressed now."

"Depressed, huh?" Dallas asked, kissing Brian.

"Hi Nick," Leigh said, walking toward him.

"Hi Leigh," Nick said.

"So are you ready?" Leigh asked.

"For what?" Nick asked.

"A day of fun," Leigh said.

Nick thought for a second. There was a sparkle in Leigh's eyes. Nick couldn't resist, even though he knew Leigh liked Brian. "Sure," Nick finally sighed. "A day of fun sounds good."
