Chapter Two: Electric Blue and Clover

"You look spectacular!" AJ said, as he and Grayson walked to his car. She was wearing a long, green slip dress with a black flimsy blouse over it.

"Thank you," Grayson said, smiling. "You don't look half bad yourself. What color is your hair exactly?"

"Electric blue," AJ said. "And what color is your dress exactly?"

"Clover," Grayson said. "Now can you stop teasing me? I'm hungry and want to go eat!"

"Lets go," AJ said, turning his car on and taking off.

When they were seated at the Thai restaurant, AJ decided to try and get some information about his dinner companion. "So how old are you?"

"I'm 19," she said. "You?"

"I just turned 21 last week," AJ answered.

"Oops, my present's gonna be late," Grayson said. "But I'm sure you understand."

"Of course," AJ said, laughing.

They had an uneventful, but fun, dinner filled with friendly chit-chat. They decided to hit a local dance club before calling it a night.

"You're a great dancer," AJ commented.

"I should be," Grayson said. "I work as a dancer at a dance studio. I teach."

"That's cool," AJ said.

Then a slow song came on. Not just any slow song, but "All I Have to Give".

"Oh AJ, will you sing to me while we're dancing?" Grayson asked, mocking countless teenyboppers.

"Only if you give me a kiss Grayson," AJ said playfully. To his surprise, she kissed him right there on the dance floor.

"Call me Grace," Grayson murmured.

AJ held her tight and said, "No prob Bob, or Grace. Here goes-" and he began to sing the song. After the song ended, they walked over to a table.

"You have such a sexy voice AJ," Grayson said. She put her hand on his arm. He picked up her hand and kissed it."

"I'm glad you think so," AJ said. "You have a very sexy smile."

She smiled coyly, "Are you trying to seduce me Mr. McLean?"

"Maybe," he said. "Am I getting anywhere?"

"Nope," Grayson said. "I don't put out on the first date. If we had been together awhile, you might have gotten lucky tonight."

"Well, then it doesn't matter that I didn't take the condoms that Kevin offered," AJ chuckled. "I thought he'd probably need 'em more than me."

"Why's that?" Grayson asked.

"His fiancee just got in from New York and they've been apart a whole two weeks," AJ said. "You'd think it'd been a year."

"That's sweet," Grayson said. "That they miss each other so much."

"No it's not," AJ said. "It's annoying. When I asked Kevin what color I should dye my hair, he said lime green, because it's Vanessa's favorite color."

"That's romantic!" Grayson defended.

"Whatever. It seems sappy to me," AJ said. "And he's so mopey."

"I suppose you never miss anyone?"

"My mom," AJ said.

"Well, since you won't miss me, don't bother asking me out again," Grayson said.

"Who asked you out in the first place?" AJ asked. "I just offered dinner to make up for the mix up with the bags."

"Fine. This isn't dinner," Grayson said, "So I'll leave now."

She walked out of the club, leaving AJ speachless.
