Biography: George Harrison


George Harrison was born on the 24th of February 1943, in Liverpool. His parents were Louise and Harold Harrison. George was ther youngest of the Beatles. He got his first guitar when he was 13 and started a group called "The Rebels". George became frustrated with his guitar when he couldn't learn the chords, but tried again and succeded.
George rode Paul's bus to school. The two boys discovered they had something in common - music. Paul invited George to see The Quarrymen and eventually George joined.
John and Paul are usually viewed as the most popular Beatles and the leaders of the group, but at the time of The Beatles appearence on "The Ed Sullivan Show", George was the most popular Beatle among American fans, according to the polls.
During the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" George met Pattie Boyd. They were married in January of 1966. George became interested in Indian music in the late sixties and it influenced many of his songs.
Pattie and George divirced in 1977. They had no children together. George then married Olivia Arrias. They had a son named Dhani.
George wrote a book in 1980 called I, Me, Mine.
