These are some frequently asked questions and the answers to them. If you would like to ask a question, click here. The most recently asked questions are at the top.
What are they saying before the second version of 'Twist' on Life is Peachy?
Jonathan: You ready you fucking middle guy?
Ross: Use the force Luke.
Jonathan: I'm gonna use the force, here we go.
What is that part at the end of 'Daddy' where those two people are arguing? Is that Jon's parents?
Apparently KoRn found that tape while they were recording their first album. They thought that it would go well as a hidden track. Where it originally comes from, no one seems to know, but it is not Jon's parents. Thanks to Steve from The KoRn Page.
I heard that Jonathan may be working something out about making an album with Marilyn Manson. Is this true or just a rumor?
According to Jon: "We've had offers from ICP to do a remix but we're working on the album and we're gonna be on the Dust Brothers album". It is a possibility but it doesn't look probable.
When is the third KoRn album going to be released, and what is it going to be called?
The album is going to be out sometime in 1998, probably in June or July. We can't give an exact date yet. The album will be called "Follow the Leader". More info should come soon. Stay tuned!
What are the Lyrics to "Twist"?
Jon says: "What do I say in twist? I don't say a god damn thing at all. Some might call it like crazy, angry-ass scat singing, I don't know, but that is just what I do!"
Who is "Caco"?
Jonathon says: "He is a car tech. He can't really talk. He is a buddy of ours. He wanted to go to COSTCO but he said Caco, so we held him to it". (Go to The Speech Impaired Homepage to show your support for Caco)
Who is "Sean Olson"?
Jonathon says that "Sean Olson was the only jock-type person that I liked and respected". He is a friend of Jon's and the band, and he is also mentioned in the liner notes to the Deftones album "Adrenaline", so we are guessing that he is friends with them as well. Popular boy!
Is it true that KoRn will be touring with the Deftones and/or Limp Bizkit in early 1998?
Jon says that they are trying to set something up. The 'Family Values' Tour is close to becoming a reality for the summer of '98. This tour should include Limp Bizkit and Orgy, as well as some other big name acts that Jon wouldn't reveal yet. The Deftones will not be on the Family Values tour.
I heard Jon killed his parents. Is this true?
No this is not true. Jon's parents are fine and well in California. Apparently he gets along well with his dad now too. He said somewhere that "we are like best friends now".
I heard Munky and Brian cross dress at shows. Is this true?
No. Brian usually wears a flannel shirt and baggy pants, and Munky sometimes wears a Coroner's jacket and pants, but they never wear dresses. Munky likes to dress dirty because it is symbolic of the way he feels onstage.
Does Jon have HIV or Aids?
NO, the HIV tatoo is meant for all the people who called Jon a faggot in High-School. He is basically telling them to Fuck Off. By the way, Jonathon pronounces his nickname "Hiv" (Rhymes with give), not H.I.V..
Is Jon a homosexual?
No. (see bio page)
Does Jon use heroin?
No, but he likes to get pissed. Apparently he used to be a bit of a speed freak (see bio page and the lyrics to "Chi" and "Helmet in the Bush"). He likes to drink a lot of beer too.
Does the name KoRn really stand for Kiddie Porn?
No. (see bio page)
What's Jonathan's connection with Marilyn Manson?
Jonathon explains: “I was round Manson’s house one night and there was this chick. We tied her
down and she was begging us to hurt her, to put cigarettes out on her and shove ice cubes up her and stuff. We
were recording the whole thing. We were like, giving her full force punches in the face and she was begging us
for more and screaming at the same time - we beat the fuck out of her. We recorded the whole thing and Mr
Manson used it as the first track to his “Smells like Children” CD. But before it was released it was banned and
removed, but I have a copy of it in the tour bus.
Why does Jonathan play the bagpipes?
According to Jon: "My Grandmother was Scottish, so I grew up listening to the pipes, she bought me some and I took a
music course. Then I started competing in Scottish games up and down California. I won some ribbons."
"I have my full kilt and dress, so I have all that traditional side, but I wanted to do something
different. It doesn't have to be snooty classical pipe music. When I come out with the pipes during a show, it
really fucks the crowds' heads up. I love it, let me tell you."
What's the story behind Daddy?
The song "Daddy" is about child abuse. But it is not about Jonathon directly. He does say that it has something to do with his feelings of anger towards his parents for not believing him that he was abused. But he wasn't abused by his dad, or his mom. Apparently, he was abused by a neighbour (see lyrics to Mr. Rogers). Jon was originally worried about how his parents would react to this song, but he and his dad talked it over and now his dad is okay with it. Jon says that he hates this song, and the band never plays it live.
Did Jonathan really work as an Autopsy assistant?
Yes. (see bio)
What's Jonathan saying in Ball Tongue?
It's jibberish. Jon says that he couldn't really nail down what he was trying to say, so he just started mumbling incoherently. Kinda like twist!
What's the connection with the Deftones?
According to Jon: "Deftones are like our brother band. When we were in California they were from the North, we from the South. We used to switch up and down the coast and when we play together we usually do a song together" (usually "Wicked").
What's the significance of Jon's Crazed Bishop tattoo?
Jon says: "The bishop is a symbol of the atrocities that religion are making. He's ripping up my skin
to reveal Christ, its more of a symbol of how corrupt religion is. I don't believe in any of it because of shit like
televangelism and shit. Do you really think that all that money really goes to charity?"
