Basically, the Officials were born out of the ashes of BombTrack Josie's Prettiest Militia, and if you really want to know more about that band feel free to go here. Originally, this band was formed on two dreams, one is that every member took an active part in the band, whether writing songs or booking shows or drawing logos, just about anything, and the other is that we make one of those crazy punk/ska hybirds with only a 3 or 4 person band. Basically that idea fell through in a few months. The band started off with Seth and Jon, on drums and bass respectivly, and then they enlisted a friend of theirs from the Toledo pop-punk quintet Multi-Cultural Family Puppets, Tom, on guitar. Next, Seth invited a good friend Jake to play lead guitar, and things started to click. Eventually, when BombTrack finally went 100% belly up, Andy joined the band mostly because he is good at begging. We really didn't want a trombone player at the time, but we said ok anyways. Since we added Andy on, we decided that we might as well go for one more horn player. We added Chris on as a singer, but he played trumpet too, so we said what the hell, do both. Unfortunately, Chris was a little too good for us, and he wrote a lot of trumpet parts and left almost no spot for vocals. After a long discussion about it, we decided to faze out the horn section, and just go for a punk rock band, but in the end, we loved ska to much to give it up. Jake became the singer and things went pretty well for a while. We started playing shows in and around Toledo, and made fast friends with most of the Toledo punk scene. Eventually, we brought Andy back, only part time at first, but he is now full time. Soon Jake joined the Marines, and he missed the show we played with Markey Ramone at Frankie's, so he left. After that, the line up has been fitted to:
Tom: guitar, backups
Jon: bass
Seth: drums
Andy: trombone, dead baby jokes, some backups
The new members are:
Ben: trumpet
Jesse: vocals
