Interview done right before the releasing of the debut cd 'Addisiu'.

Hi! From a lot of time the kids are drooling waiting for a debut Cd of Inchiuvatu... Now the time has come... Do you want to talk about this? Which songs will be included? How did you arrange the artwork, etc?
It was really time that my music starts to go around. It's incredible when you see a lot of pathetic releases at the top of the selling list and your artistic work keeps on staying closed in a drawer, perhaps because you're Italian rather than, even worse, banished in a far land as Sicily. But now the time is come and my revenge will be dreadful; right now I'm ending the recording of 'Astimi' one of my creature, part of the Penta Carpentus Immaginarum Gudazzu (Straordinario). First the Inchiuvatu, then Astimi, Ultima Missa, Lamentu, Caruta Di Li Dei, forget the rest! Am I too much conceited? Wait for the album, perhaps I'm modest. Let's go back to Inchiuvatu... The cd is called 'Addisiu' (desire), you know it... it will include 13 hymns for a playing time of 52 minutes that will torn you apart. Some tracks: Cristu Crastu, Addisiu, Castiu di Di, Ave Matri, Luciferu Re, Lu Jaddinu Di Lu Piaciri, Nenia, Unia... The artwork is great: there are the lyrics in Sicilian and the English translations, it will be shown a painting of mine representing the Inchiuvatu dream and 4 pictures of me and my disceples.

Inchiuvatu... What do your lirycs talk about? Which are your main source of inspiration?
Per farti capire il genere in Ave Matri I talk about the so-called Vergin Mary, that escapes from Paradise because she want to try the pleasure of sex, she takes refuge in 'Lu Jaddinu Di Lu Piaciri' (the garden of pleasure) where, between demons, spirits and fairys, but God, aware of the loss, recover the holy clothes of Mary, beating her up. For sure this is the top of the romantic and elegant poetic exaltation (elegant? N.d.G.)

In which direction are you moving, musically? What are we waiting for in your new stuff?
I like to say: from Inchiuvatu, You have to wait always the only and sole Inchiuvatu sound. I'm sorry for every other impersonal band.

Trovo che l'effetto del cantato in sicilano sia incredibile,come ti è venuta l'idea...
E' normale che io canti in dialetto, è la mia lingua prima dell'italiano stesso, se poi l'effetto è ok, tanto meglio, ma non pensare che ogni artista, per quanto dialettale e quindi legato alle sue origini, faccia dei lavori interessanti. Negli Inchiuvatu c'è una poesia particolare. Ovviamente non pensate male, non è certo black-tarantella, rido sdegnato perché gente, senza ascoltare gli Inchiuvatu, si è permessa di dirlo.

What do you think about the metal scene in Sicily? Here in the provincia of Messina (I came from Messina, on the other side of Sicily) is tragic... e dalle vostre parti?
Sicily is the land of extreme metal (uuhhmmm... N.d.G.), about our Scena Mediterranea (che non è un'emulazione di quella norvegese per il semplice motivo che noi sappiamo suonare mentre in Norvegia, a parte alcuni veramente grandi, il resto è una riflessione di questi) everyone of us play is kind of black in a personal way: Tragoidia, Lamentu, Astimi, Ultima Missa, La Caruta de Li Dei and more over...

In your early photo session you used to face-paint. Do you keep on wear it? Non vi sembra ormai una cosa un po' scontata e ripetitiva?
We used the face painting just for fun, non trovo che sia scontato, il fatto è che lo hanno adottato 'tutti' rendendosi ancora più impersonali.

Apparentemente sembrate avere un'attitudine abbastanza satanica, ma il satanismo si presenta spesso come un calderone in cui si mischiano molte filosofie ed attitudini diverse. Sei religioso? Credi in qualche dio? Sei andato a messa la domenica di Pasqua?
Non mi sento un religioso, faccio arte per alleviare i dolori del mio dramma esistenziale, tentando di divertirmi, raccontando delle fiabe per meglio spiegare il vuoto dentro l'uomo. Ovviamente come potresti spiegare l'umanità? O dal punto di vista scientifico o religioso quindi mi sento una specie di antico cantastorie, ricordi quelli siculi....

Future project? C'è la possibilità di vedervi dal vivo da qualche parte?
Oltre alla mia già citata vendetta artistica spero di poter affrontare un gran bel tour per incontrare tutti voi e mostrarvi un'immagine diversa da quella su Cd. The Inchiuvatu-show is really intense.

In conclusione I say that 'Addisiu' is just the first step. Trust more the Italian Metal, so it should grow up, trust me.
