Falling Star

~Chapter 1~

“Amy it’s 3:30 AM.  Go to sleep!  Christy pleaded, pulling her pillow out from under her and over her head.
“But Christy, they’re going to be home in two hours.”  Amy said as she passed Christy’s room.
“We aren’t going to see them until noon.  If you’re not going to sleep go downstairs so I can!”
Amy said something under her breath and trudged down the stairs.
The Backstreet Boys were finally done with their world tour and where coming home that morning.  Amy Carlson, Christy Loreta, and they’re roommate/friend Kirsten Winser hadn’t seen them in about six months.  Amy was always peppy the night before the guys got home.  It drove both Christy and Kirsten crazy.
----------
“Ok that’s it!”  Amy yelled as she stomped up the stairs.  “I need to talk to someone so that means you Christy are getting up now.”  She walked in Christy’s room.  “You out of bed it’s 11:30.  How long are you going to sleep?”
“All day if you’ll close your mouth.”  She snapped.  Christy really wasn’t “Miss. Sunshine” in the morning.  No one liked bothering her in the morning because she would pretty much chew them out if they really got on her nerves.
“But Christy your honey bunches of oats is coming in a half hour!”  Amy argued.  “Don’t you want to be all pretty when he gets here?”
“You really aren’t going to leave me alone are you?”  Christy asked getting off her bed.
“No.”
“What a friend you are.”  Christy said sarcastically.  “Where’s Kirsten?”
“She’s still sleeping I don’t know how you two can sleep so late.”
“Wait so you come in and bother me but you let Kirsten sleep.”
Christy went to her dresser to get some clothes.
“No last night I recall her saying ‘If you wake me up tomorrow you’re going out the window’ so I think I’ll leave her alone.”
“Great now leave me alone so I can change.”
Ten minutes later Christy was finished getting ready and walked down the stairs to join Amy.  Kirsten was just walking out the door when Christy got down there.
“See you guys later.  I have to go to work.”  Kirsten said and left.
“Can this day go any slower?”  Amy asked doing anything to keep herself busy.  At the moment she was dusting.  One less thing Christy had to do.
“While you’re at it you wanna clean my room?”  Christy joked.
“Ha!  Yeah right.  Your room looks like a tornado hit it.”
“So I don’t have time to clean it.  I’ll give you twenty dollars to clean it.”
“First of all you’ve asked me five times already, no by the way, and second Kevin’s coming in fifteen minutes and forty-eight seconds.”
“You really aren’t counting the minutes like that are you?”  Christy asked getting a little worried.  Now she missed AJ and all but she didn’t get herself as worked up as Amy did.
“No.  It’s almost noon.  They should be here soon.”
“I wouldn’t count on AJ.  He’s probably still sleeping.”  Christy turned on the TV since there pretty much wasn’t anything for her to do.  The doorbell rang and Amy practically tripped over the coffie table trying to run to the door.  Christy laughed in amusement.  To Amy’s surprise it was their annoying neighbor Martin.
“Hi Amy.”  Martin said and walked inside.
“Oh come on in Martin.”  Amy said quietly with her back to him.  She closed the door and looked at Christy for help.  Neither of the girls liked him and a few times they had to be rude in order to make him leave.  He was twenty-four and still lived with his mom.
“Um Martin, we’re kind of expecting company.” Christy said.
“Oh that’s ok I don’t mind.”
Amy and Christy looked at each other.
“No Martin.  What we meen is we're expecting some people.  We’d like to be alone with them.”  Amy said trying to get Martin to see the light.
“Oh ok I’ll just watch some TV.”  Said Martin.  He picked up the remote and started changing the channels.  Christy could never handle him for more than five minutes.
“Martin.  Isn’t that your mother calling you?”  Christy asked growing more and more impatient by the minute.
“I don’t hear anything.”  He answered.
“I do.  It was nice seeing you Martin.  Maybe we’ll see you next week.”  She pushed Martin to the door and then out of it.  Then she closed it.
“I’ll see you later then!”  Martin yelled from the other side.
“Why don’t we just move somewhere far away?”  Christy asked.
“He’ll probably follow us.”  Amy said.
“It’s your fault Amy.  You’re the one who told him he was welcome any time he wanted to come over here.”  Christy said.
“I didn’t think he would practically live here!  Besides he’s here because he’s in love with you.”
“Don’t remind me.”  Christy said with a sick look on her face.  She began to think of the day that Martin told her he loved her.  He walked in without knocking and had a flower from his mother’s garden.  Then he told her that he loved her.  Ever since that day he’s been over there at least once or twice a day.  The doorbell rang once again and Amy shot up to get it.  Christy just sat their watching TV she figured AJ wouldn’t be there for another few hours.  She practically had to go over to his house and pull him out of bed every time he came home after a tour.
“Hi.”  She heard Amy say excitedly.

~Chapter 2~

The door closed and nothing was said.  She figured she and Kevin were making out by now.  Someone came up from behind her and wrapped their arms around her.  That startled her but she knew who it was right away.
“Hey babe.”  Came a deep voice.  Christy got up to face AJ.  He hadn’t changed a bit.  Well except his hair was now dark red.  He walked around the couch and over to Christy.  He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and kissed her lightly and then more deeply.  She never really realized just how much she had missed him.  Well yeah Christy missed him very much but she didn’t realize that she missed him more than that.  Christy finally pulled away because she knew AJ wouldn’t.  She looked into his brown eyes.  It seemed like hours before anyone spoke.
“Hey you guys wanna go get some food?”  Amy asked snapping Christy out of the transe she was in.  AJ and Christy looked in Amy’s direction.  Kevin was there next to her with his arm around her.
“Oops did we interrupt something?”  Kevin asked.
“Yeah but that’s ok.  We’ll go with you.  Well if that’s ok with you.”  Christy said turning back to AJ.
“Yeah that’s fine.”
“Just give us a minute.”  Said Christy.
“We’ll wait for you outside.”  Kevin said and the two walked out the door hand in hand and closed the door behind them.
AJ wrapped his arms around Christy’s neck and pulled her into a hug.
“So how was the tour?”  Christy asked while still in his arms.
“It was great.  But we have one more show to do.  We had to reschedule the Orlando show so it would be out last show and we could come home early.”
AJ pulled away to look at Christy’s blue green eyes.
“Oh yeah I forgot all about that.”  Christy said.
“Yeah.  It’s tomorrow and me and Kev got you, Kirsten and Amy front row seats, and VIP’s so can get back stage without any trouble.”
“Come on you guys!  I want food!”  Amy yelled through the open window.  Christy took AJ’s hand and walked to the door.  AJ stopped her from opening it.
“They can wait on more minute.”  AJ said.
He leaned down and kissed her once again.
“We’re gonna leave without you!”  Kevin yelled.  The two pulled apart again and looked at each other a little annoyed.
“We might as well go.”  Said Christy.  “They’re just going to keep interrupting us."
She then opened the door and they walked outside.
“Well it’s about time.”  Amy smiled.
The four of them piled into AJ’s explorer and went to their hang out which was a small café.  They weren’t bothered there by any fans so they went there all the time when they were home.

~Chapter 3~

“When we were in London, we decided that we would go out.  To avoid the crowd in the front of our hotel, AJ and I went out the back.  Well Nick decided that he wanted to come along but he went through the front.  Tom his bodyguard was there at the time I’m guessing, but he wasn't really paying attention.  So Nick comes out the door and he tried to get through the crowd but he didn’t really make it.  The girls ended up tearing his clothes down to his draws.”
“Oh my god.  Was he ok?”  Christy asked, interrupting Kevin.
“Yeah he was fine.  But the funny part was that he had on these Smurf boxers.  He teared through the crowd and ran around the building.  When we saw him we just about died, cause all he had on were his boxers and one shoe.”  AJ finished.
“Oh my god I would be mortified.”  Amy said with wide eyes.  Christy was laughing with the picture of Nick’s horrified face.
“Tom isn’t working with us anymore.”  Kevin said.
“So what are you doing tonight?”  AJ asked Christy.
“I don’t know, Amy don’t we have that date with those really hot guys tonight?”
“Oh yeah I forgot all about that.”  Amy answered playing along.
“You’re so funny.”  Said AJ.  “So I’m hot huh?”
Christy rolled her eyes.  “Yeah right.  You hot?  Sorry.”
AJ made a sad puppy dog face.
“I’m just kidding baby you’re very sexy.”
Amy put one hand to her neck pretending to gag.
“Oh you’re just jealous.”  Christy said simply.
Amy laughed.  “Sorry to disappoint you but I got a man ok.  I don’t need to be jealous.”
“Ok what do you say we get out of here?”  Kevin asked.  The rest agreed and went back to Christy and Amy’s place.  They decided that they were going to just split up and do their own thing.  Christy and AJ went to AJ’s place to hang since AJ hadn’t been there more that six hours and he wanted to see his dogs.  The man loved his dogs.  Christy’s dog stayed there because she couldn’t have pets in her townhouse.  She was originally from Minnesota and moved to Florida a year earlier with Amy and Kirsten.  So her two year old Pug, Xena stayed with AJ.  Christy and AJ decided to play pool.  It beat watching the boob tube.
“Want to make a little wager?”  AJ asked while racking the balls.
“Why not.”  She answered.
“Ok.  If I win you have to spend every waking hour with me all weekend with no breaks no matter what.  You have to be glued to my side.”  Said AJ.
“What kind of bet is that?  That wouldn’t be hard at all.  We’re always like that when you come home.”
“No no.  This is different.  You have to go where I go, and do what I do because you can’t leave my side unless you have to go to the bathroom.  I know you would bring that up.”
“Fine.  If I win you get to clean my house and wash my car.  I really need to get that done.”
“Deal.”  AJ extended his hand and Christy shook it to seal the bet.  Instead of letting go, AJ pulled Christy to him and gave her a kiss.
“I missed being able to do that so I think I’ll be doing it a lot to make up for the lost time.”  He said.
“That doesn’t bother me.”
After about a half-hour AJ ended up winning.  Christy really was no contest.  She sucked compared to him.
“Oh I’m going to love this.”  AJ said.
“No biggy.  It’s not like I’m gonna get sick of you.  But we can’t start that until after your concert.”  She pointed out.
“Oh yeah.  All right that’s fine.”

~Chapter 4~

Amy and Kevin decided to stay at her place.  He was so tired that he ended up falling asleep.  Amy didn’t mind.  She was just happy that he was there in the same room as her.  Kirsten walked in the door and greeted Amy.
“Oh you wanna go to the guys last concert tomorrow?  They got us front row.”
“Sure.”  Said Kirsten.  “It’s nice to see you two are spending quality time together.”
“Oh well I’d rather stare at him sleeping that not staring at him at all.
“Nick cut it out.”  Kevin softly said.
The girls looked at Kevin, who was still sleeping, then back at each other and started laughing.
“Ok.”  Was all Kirsten said.  “Hey where’s Christy at?  We were supposed to have a jam session today but it got canceled.
Kirsten and Christy are in a band called Guiding Light with some other friends.  Kirsten was on drums, Christy on lead guitar, their friend Stephanie was on keyboard and Kelly was on base guitar and vocals.  They were very good and had gigs all over town.  They were really hoping to get big one day.  And by the looks of things they just might get there.  Their next gig is three in three days and a talent scout is going to be there.
“She’s at AJ’s.”  Amy answered.  “She’ll probably be back later.  But she told me to tell you that she isn't going this time because AJ was coming home.”
“Yeah I figured.  That’s one of the reasons we aren’t having it.”
“I love you Amy.”  Kevin breathed, still sleeping, then followed by, “Nick stop.”
“I don’t want to know what that man is dreaming about.”  Kirsten commented very scared.  She went into the kitchen and raided the fridge.  The only thing in it was a jar of mayonnaise and three cans of Pepsi.
“What are we on a mayonnaise diet?”  Kirsten yelled into the other room.  Amy got off the couch and walked into the kitchen to avoid waking Kevin.
“Sorry I forgot to go shopping yesterday.”
“I’ll just order out for us.”
“Works for me.”
