*That Night*
“And how are you going to get up there?” Christy asked AJ as he got to the staircase. He wanted to go to bed and they didn’t think about the stairs.
“It’s not that hard.”
He slowly sat down on one of the stairs and pushed with hid good leg and went up to the next step. After about ten minutes he was up the stair.
“Look at that you are just so gifted.” Christy joked.
“Oh I know.” He replied. “And now I’m also in great pain.” He rubbed his side.
“Well I better get home. Are you going to be ok or do you want me to stay?”
“Well,” he got a sly smile on his face. “you could stay.”
“Why did I even ask?” she asked herself.
“Like I said to my mom, I’m a big boy I can handle being by myself.”
She went up the stairs and gave him a very long kiss and they she left.

Four days later Brian was finally able to go home and couldn’t be happier. Everyone else was happy to finally get out that hospital.
Brian found it off that only his parents were there that day.
“Where is everyone?” Brian asked as he was getting escorted to the lobby.
“Well the girls had to go to work. They were gone for so long they were afraid they wouldn’t have any money for rent.” Said Jackie, “And AJ is still at home resting and I’m not sure where the other boys are. Maybe they thought you were getting out later today.”
“Oh.” Was all Brian said. He couldn’t hide the disappointment he felt.
“Are you sure you want to go though the crowd of girls out here?” Harold asked Brian.
“What crowd? There’s ten of them.”
“There were so many of them the police had to start clearing them out.’ Jackie commented. Harold went outside to get the car.
Brian stared at the girls clutching teddy bears, cards and balloons anxious to see Brian. He smiled just thinking about how complete strangers could care for him so much.
“Mom if you don’t mind I’ll like to go out there and talk to those girls.” Brian said with his eyes still on them.
“Ok then let’s go.” She replied.
She wheeled him trough the main doors to where the girls were quietly standing and talking to each other. When they saw him they all ran over to him like a herd of animals. They all thankfully stayed civilized human beings while talking to him. Two of the ten girls had been outside the building for the past week and a half. He was amazed that someone would just stay there for so long doing nothing. Then again fans do almost anything to meet the Backstreet Boys.
“Who’s the girl behind y’all” Brian asked noticing that he hadn’t talked to one of the. The girls moved aside and Brian saw that it was Amy.
“Well you know I had to be here to see you leave this place.” She said.
“I’m glad you’re here. At least someone came.”
“They all apologize and feel really terrible about it. They also wanted me to tell you that they’ll see you later today.”
Brian said his good-byes to the girls and got in the car to finally go home.
~Chapter 18~
“Finally I’m home.” Brian said happily before Amy opened the door to let him in.
“And it’s nice to have you here.” Jackie said. Amy opened the door and Jackie wheeled him inside and to the living room. When they got their they saw a huge welcome Home Brian and AJ sign on the wall, along with Christy, AJ, Howie, Nick, Kevin, and Kirsten, and the guy’s managers.
“Welcome home Brian!” They all said. “And welcome home AJ.”
AJ stood on his crutches next to Brian with Christy by his side. AH looked down at Brian and smiled.
“Nice to be out of that damn bed isn’t it?” AJ asked.
“You know it.” Brian replied.
AJ looked to his left to see if Christy was paying attention. When he saw that she was talking to Kirsten he turned back to Brian.
“What do you say? Should I do it now?” He asked.
“Go for it.” Said Brian.
AJ took a deep breath.
“Everyone can I have you attention?” AJ yelled over the crowd.
They all quieted down to hear what he had to say. AJ turned to Christy.
“I have something to say to Christy and I thought you all would like to hear it as well.” He handed his crutches to Howie who was standing right there. He then took Christy’s hands into his, and began to talk again.
“I fell in love with you the frost time I saw you. I fall in love with you more and more each time I see you. No one will ever understand how much you really mean to me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Christy began to cry. She knew where this what going. He dug in his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet box and opened it revealing a beautiful diamond ring.
“Christy, will you marry me?”
She covered her mouth with her hand and cried even more.
“I’d bend down on one knee but I kind of can’t. So what do you say?”
“I say yes!” she said. She hugged him and then kissed him. Everyone cheered for the happy couple.
“Oh I love you.” AJ said to Christy while she was in his arms.
“I love you too.” She replied.
Kevin was the first person to congratulate the two. He gave AJ a hug and then gave Christy one.
“You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into.” He joked. “If he ever gives you trouble come to me and I’ll set him straight.”
Christy laughed. “Thanks Kev.” She gave him another hug. “And you’ll never know what you’ll be getting into until you go through with it.” She whispered in his ear.
“You’re right.” He said. He let go of Christy and saw Amy talking to Nick across the room. “Well since we’re sharing all happy new today I thought maybe I would add to it.” He said to everyone. They all quieted down to hear what he had to say. “There’s someone in this room that made me a better man than I used to be. Someone who helped me figure out who I really am. Someone I love deeply.”
“I love you too man!” Nick yelled pretending to cry. Everyone started to laugh.
“No you, you idiot!” Kevin laughed. He pulled something out of his pocked and started walking towards Amy. “I was talking about Amy.” He bent down on one knee and he heard a few gasps form a few people. “Amy I’ve been meaning to ask you this since before I went out tour. Will you marry me?” He opened his hand and there was a ring in it.
“Yes I will!” she replied. Kevin put the ring on her finger and hugged her and then kissed her.
“You see? I told you Christy, you and Amy will be married while I’m here with now boyfriend.” Kirsten joked.
“I don’t know about that.” AJ said with a slight smile. Christy watching Howie walked up to Kirsten and kneel down in front of her.
“Oh my god.” She said.
“Well I can’t ask you to marry me of course but Kirsten will you date me?”
Kirsten started laughing. Christy laughed at how cheesy he was being.
“Sure why not.” Kirsten answered.
Howie got up while saying, “All right!”
Amy ran over to Christy so she could show off her ring and see Christy’s.
“They’re both so beautiful.” Amy said.
“Amy you know what this means don’t you?”
“We get to plan our wedding.” They said together. This was something they had been talking about since they were fourteen. They were living for this.
“This is going to be so much fun!” Kirsten exclaimed. “There are going to be little AJs and Kevins running around before you know it! And little Christys and Amys!”
“Well there’s a thought.” Amy said.
“Wow.” Was all Christy said.
“I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s just focus on the wedding now shall we?” AJ said.
“I don’t mind just focusing on you.” Christy said to AJ.
“Gag me now.” Said Kirsten.
“Oh don’t tempt me.” Christy joked.
So the boys welcome home party turned into a welcome home/engagement party. Amy, Kevin, Christy, and AJ ended up going to Wisconsin to see the girls families to tell them the happy news. The girls had a fun time planning their wedding. Christy and AJ were married on May 29 of the next year in Christy’s hometown in Wisconsin. Amy and Kevin were married in Lexington Kentucky on August 14, after Christy and AJ. Yes they all had little Christys, Amys, AJs, and Kevins running around just like Kirsten had talked about, but not for about three years after their weddings. As for Kirsten, well, there’s a little bundle of joy on the way if that answered you question. His name will be Jesse Isaac Dorough. As for Guiding Light, they finally got a record deal and were around for about two years and they broke apart for reasons that were never mentioned.
