This is a story about trust, friendship, and maybe true love. You’ll just have to decide for yourself it if is. Chapter 1 Tonight was the night. Lisa Kreeger was finally going to get to see her best friend of eight years. She hadn’t seen him in almost two years. Every time he would go to Kentucky to see his family she would miss him one way or the other and when she would actually get the chance to see him, he would be gone. What he doesn’t know is that Lisa ended up moving down to Orlando Florida to be closer to him, and her other best friend that she has known since she was in diapers, Julie Mackes. Now Julie ended up moving down to Orlando right out of high school to go to college and to be in a warmer climate, or so she says. Lisa thinks it’s because of the guys and because she wants become a well-known actress someday. That was a reason why Lisa was now in Florida. She really wanted to become an actress. She was hoping she just might get somewhere in Orlando. She was really getting her hopes up on this, even though she knew that she shouldn’t. “Lisa! If you don’t get down here right now we’re going to be late to pick up the guys!” Julie yelled up the stairs, her thick Kentucky accent still coming through. “I’m coming!” Lisa yelled back. Lisa looked in the mirror one more time to make sure she looked all right. She combed through her long blond hair and she left her room and ran down the stairs. “It’s about time.” Said Julie. “I was about to leave without you.” “You wouldn’t have done that.” Lisa stated. “What makes you think that?” “Because I would have killed you.” She grinned. They made their way to Lisa’s silver mustang and got in. “I can’t wait to see Brian.” Lisa said excitedly. “Well you’ll see him sooner if you would get going! Their flight is supposed to land in twenty minutes.” Julie said while she was looking in the mirror fixing a few stray hairs that were sticking up. “I think I should dye my hair blonde.” Lisa backed out of the driveway and sped down the road. “Keep in brown. It looks better.” They continued to talk all the way to the airport. They were a little later than they were supposed to be and ended up running to the gate. “What gate is it again?” Lisa asked and they continued running down the hall. “Gate B22 I think.” “Well let’s hope you’re right.” They continued running, checking each gate number as they passed them. Finally they got to it and found Brian and the rest of his friends waiting, trying not to be noticed by anyone. The airport wasn’t all that busy so they didn’t really have anything to worry about. “I’m so sorry we’re late.” Lisa said as she and Julie got to them. “Oh it’s ok.” Said Brian. “How are you!” He pulled her into a big hug. “I’m great! I’ve missed you.” Lisa answered. “Brian pulled away and looked at her. “How long are you going to be here?” “Well, actually I moved in with Julie.” She answered. “Really? That’s great! Now I can see you more!” he said happily and gave her another hug. “How rude of me.” Lisa said looking at Julie. “This is my friend Julie. Julie this is Brian, Nick, AJ, Kevin, and Howie.” “Haven’t we seen each other before?” asked Nick. “Yeah I think once a few years ago.” Lisa answered. “And this is my beautiful girlfriend Leighanne.” Brian said while wrapping his arm around her. “I’ve heard so much about you! It’s nice to finally meet you!” Lisa said. “Probably not as much as I’ve heard about you I’m sure.” Leighanne said. “Well how about we move this little gathering elsewhere.” Kevin suggested. “I don’t exactly want to run away from a mob of people today.” “If ya’ll aren’t doing anything, why don’t you come back to our place?” Lisa suggested. “I’d like to get to know ya’ll a little better.” “That’s so cute Brian she’s got a thicker accent than you do.” AJ joked. Lisa shot him a playful glare. “Well I would Lisa but I have to get home to my wife who’s waiting for me.” Said Kevin. “Yeah my girlfriend awaits.” Said Nick. “Nick you don’t have a girlfriend. You just want to go play video games.” Brian joked. “Fine I’ll come.” “What about you Howie?” Lisa asked. “Well, I’d really love to but I should go and visit the family. But we’ll get together soon.” “Bone what about you?” Brian asked. “Hmm…This is hard…Go home to no one…Or go to a house with three women in it. That’s tough.” He answered. “Alright, now there’s a problem.” Said Julie. “We only have one car.” “That’s ok I have my car. I’ll take Kevin and Howie home and then we’ll swing by your place.” Said Leighanne. Lisa gave them the address to her and Julie’s townhouse and left with Julie, AJ and Nick. Chapter 2 “Nice car.” AJ said as soon as they got to it in the parking garage. “Thanks. Took a long time to save up for this thing.” Lisa replied. “It’s her baby. You touch it wrong and you die.” Julie whispered to the guys. “I heard that.” Said Lisa. “You know I’m right.” “Yeah,” she sighed. “I know.” She let everyone in, Nick got in the back and Julie followed right behind him, making AJ sit in front with Lisa. “So what do you do for a living?” AJ asked Lisa and Julie, trying to make conversation. “Well I work as a secretary at a vet clinic right now while I go to college, but what I really want to do is be an actress.” Lisa answered. “Have you gone to an auditions yet?” “Are you kidding? Julie and I have been to a ton of those things. Sometimes we manage to get small rolls as extras in commercials. We can’t really get anything else.” “Oh so Julie wants to be an actress too I see.” AJ said looking back at her. “Yeah that’s why I moved down here.” Lisa pulled into the driveway and they all piled out of the car and made their way inside. “Make yourselves at home.” Julie said as they walked in the door. They were greet by a Chihuahua and a pug. “Well who do we have here?” AJ said as he crouched down on the floor to pet the dogs. “That’s my dog Crunk.” Julie said, pointing at the golden retriever. “Crunk?” AJ questioned. “She’s got this thing with the Emperor’s New Groove.” Lisa answered. “Hey my niece made me watch in and I thought he was funny ok.” “Yeah you named your dog after a gullible stupid guy.” Lisa laughed. “But he was funny. At least I was original.” “Is this your dog?” AJ asked Lisa as the chocolate lab began to lick his face. “Yeah that’s Magi” “I love dogs. I have a few at home myself.” They continued to talk and try and get to know each other until Brian and Leighanne showed up. “The life of the party is here!” Brian said as he made his way inside with Leighanne close behind him. “Where?” Lisa asked looking out the door. “I don’t see anyone.” Everyone but Brian laughed. “I don’t see my best friend in years and this is what I get.” He pretended to cry but it wasn’t too convincing. “You know I’m glad you have a career in singing and not acting because you suck at it.” They all moved down to the basement where there was a pool table and a ping pong table, along with a small bar. It was the best place in the house to hang out. “So what did we miss while we were taking the two party poopers home?” asked Brian. “A massive orgy.” Julie replied. AJ almost shot a ball from the pool table clear across the room and looked at Julie in amusement. Julie gave him a weird look, while saying, “It was a joke.” Lisa went to get the ball that had rolled up to Nick’s feet and picked it up. “What it you almost hit my in the head.” She said glaring at him, making him think that she was mad. “Sorry about that. Anything I can do to make it better?” “We’ll talk later.” She said with a sly grin. AJ’s mouth dropped open and she handed him the ball. She couldn’t take it anymore and started laughing. “Ok stop flirting with my friend and come talk to me.” Brian demanded. They caught up on the basics while everyone else was fooling around and decided to catch up on the rest when they could be alone. For now they decided to get in on the action. “You know what I haven’ t played in the longest time?” Julie asked everyone. “Truth or Dare.” “That’s because we aren’t kids anymore.” Said Nick. “Yeah but wouldn’t you think it would be more interesting now than it would then? I mean, we can do so much more now. Come on guys what do you say? This could be fun.” “I’m in.” said Lisa. “I’m up for a good dare.” AJ said while laying down the ping pong paddle. Everyone else agreed and they went back upstairs to the living room where there would be more room for all of them to sit. “I’ll go first.” Said Julie. “Brian truth or dare?” “I think I’ll go with truth.” He answered. “Oh such a daredevil. If you could switch places with any person in this room, who would you switch with and why?” Brian looked around the room at each other them. “Probably AJ because he gets all the girls.” Leighanne playfully smacked him on the arm. “But I’ve got the best one out there.” “Oh nice cover.” Lisa laughed. “Ok Lisa it’s your turn. Truth or Dare?” “I know what you’re capable of so I’m going to go with a truth.” “Oh come one Lisa do a dare.” Said Julie. “This game is going to get boring.” “No way am I going to do a dare for that man. Last time we played this I had to go to Ryan Halies house, you know the guy who lived next to me, and I had to ask him for a tampon and when he gave me an answer I had to start barking and walk away.” “Did you actually do that?” Brian started laughing just thinking about that night. “I take it you did.” “Truth it is.” Said Brian. “Now I’ve noticed you checking out AJ when he’s not looking. How about you tell all of us if you’re single, and if you actually were checking him out, or if you noticed that he sat in something, leaving a stain that you couldn’t keep your eyes off of. Lisa’s head dropped and he cheeks turned a deep shade of red. She couldn’t even look at AJ. She felt like she was in high school all over again. She could here Julie trying to contain her laughter but soon she had to excuse herself so she could let it out in her room. They could all hear her. “We’re waiting Lisa.” Said Brian. “Oh I hate you.” She said while shaking her head. “I don’t have a boyfriend.” She was looking from Brian, to Nick, to Leighanne and then to Julie who decided to joint them once again and then finally looked at AJ who was staring straight at her waiting for her to answer. “Well that was only part of the truth my dear. Why don’t we answer the rest of it?” “Fine yes ok. Yes I was.” “Now was that so hard? To even it out AJ’s been checking you out all night too.” “This is so childish. How old are we again?” Said Lisa. “Twenty two but ten at heart.” Julie replied. “I’d say Brian was five at heart.” Brian picked up a pillow that was lying on the couch and threw it at her, hitting her right in the head. “See what I mean?” everyone laughed. “Now Nick, truth or dare?” “Dare.” He answered. Lisa sat back to think of a good dare. She was never really that good of thinking up a good dare. Anything that came to mind was stuff that she had to do when she was a kid and that stuff was pretty stupid now. “Ok I dare you to go to a drugstore and buy some blue hair dye…” “That’s easy.” Nick interrupted. “AND three boxes of ex-lax, some tampons, and some Pepto-Bismol. When you get back I’ll let you know what the rest of your dare is.” “Oh darn I can’t go because I don’t have my car.” Nick said, trying to get out of it. “No problem Nick you can use my car.” Said Leighanne, and she threw him the keys. “Thank you so much.” He said sarcastically. “No problem.” “So what’s with all the ex-lax?” Brian asked after Nick was gone. “Oh nothing I just wanted him to buy the hairdye and I just thought I should add some other things in there. It would be weird to see someone buying ex-lax and tampons and hair dye. But that’s just me.” “And you couldn’t think of anything else.” Added Julie. “Exactly.” Chapter 3 After Nick came back he had everything that she had told him to get. Some fans had stopped him to get some autographs and after they had walked away he could hear them laughing at what he had in his hands. “I’m sorry Nick. If it makes you feel better I’ll let you keep everything.” Everyone started laughing. “And for the rest of your dare. I want you to dye your hair blue.” Nick decided to go along with the dare and went in the bathroom to dye it. AJ ended up going with him to help him. About an hour later he came back with his hair a dark shade of blue. After about an hour of streaking across the back yard (AJ), asking the neighbors for weird items, and prank calling Howie and Kevin a few times, they all grew tired of playing. By that time it was almost midnight. Brian and Leiganne decided to leave so they said their good-byes to everyone and Brian promised Lisa that they were going to spend some more time with once he got in some sleep. Julie fell asleep on the couch so Lisa decided that she would just take the guys home. Lisa dropped off Nick first and after about ten minutes of staring at the huge mansion she went on to take AJ home. “Your house is even bigger than Nick’s.” Lisa commented. “It’s pretty lonely with just me in it.” “Oh you don’t have a girlfriend?” she asked. “What makes you think I don’t have a girlfriend?” “Well…you said it’s lonely…so I thought…that uh…well.” AJ laughed softly and looked from his house to her. “I don’t have a girlfriend. I was just giving you a hard time. It’s hard to find a true girlfriend when you’re in this business.” “Yeah I know.” “You do?” “Well yeah even though I haven’t seen Brian in a few years I still do talk to him and he’s told me about the many girlfriends who turned out to be fake. So I do know what goes on.” “That’s what makes me glad that he found Leighanne. You may know what happened but you didn’t see him after he would find out about his girlfriends.” Lisa stared down at the steering wheel, tracing her fingertips along it. “That’s what makes me feel so bad.” She said while still looking at it. “I haven’t been there for my best friend.” “He’s glad you’re here now.” She looked up at him and smiled softly. She hadn’t really gotten a chance to really look at him and take him all in. She loved the way he looked at that moment. His dark brown hair, it was a little long and curly, but she thought it looked good. His shaped facial hair that started at his upper lip and went down to his chin. His beautiful eyes that were no longer covered by his sunglasses. Even though they were hard to see in the dark she could just picture how beautiful they were in the light. He only wore a white wifebeater that revealed his many tattoos and his good-looking shoulders. And he smelled really really good. Like….. “What.” AJ said snapping Lisa out of her thoughts. “Huh?” “You were staring at me. Do I have something on my face?” he joked. “Oh, sorry. I just spaced I guess.” “So do you want to come in and have a rematch at pool? This time you won’t cheat.” Lisa put her hand to her chest and acted as though she were surprised. “Me? Cheat? Never!” “So are you coming or not?” He opened the door and waited for her response. “Most people like to sleep at two o’clock in the morning.” “Sleep? You don’t need sleep.” AJ reached for the keys that were still in the ignition and turned off the car. “Hey!” she exclaimed. AJ then got out of the car, taking the keys with him and opened the driver’s side door. He unbuckled Lisa’s seatbelt and pulled her out of her car and threw her over his shoulder and closed the car door. “Put me down!” she screamed laughing. He ran to the front door with her still over his shoulder and managed to unlock the door and get them both inside in one piece. “This is what you call kidnapping my friend.” She joked. “If you really wanted to leave you would have been gone by now.” Lisa thought for a moment. “You know, you’re right.” “Come with me.” AJ took her hand and lead her through a hallway and into the room which held the pool table. They played a game, which went pretty fast. They were both very good at the game and Lisa just barely won. “Oh and she wins again!” Lisa said while sticking her arms up in the air. “You cheated again!” AJ exclaimed and darted at her and started tickling her. “No! Stop!” She laughed. “NO!! Not the knees!” she was laughing so hard she was gasping for air. She quickly maneuvered so that she could get her arms free and she poked his sides and he jumped off her. “Oh so you’re ticklish too. Good to know.” She said out of breath. AJ smiled and got up on his feet and held out his hand to help Lisa up. She yanked him back down to the floor and he landed on top of her. AJ slowly moved in closer, his lips lightly brushing hers. “You smell really good.” She murmured. “Thank you.” He said softly and closed the distance between them and kissed her. Not even a minute passed and Lisa pulled away from him and wriggled out from under him and stood up. “I think I should get going.” Lisa said. She walked out of the room and to the front door. “Sorry about before.” AJ drifted off. “Oh, don’t be.” She gave him a quick kiss and he smiled softly. “It was just going a little too fast for me. I’ll talk to you tomorrow?” “Yeah.” He answered. Lisa wrote down her phone number and then she left to go home. Chapter 4 “You smell good?” Julie questioned after she heard Lisa’s story of the night before. She kept a straight face for as long as she could but she couldn’t take it any longer and started laughing. “I can’t believe I said that. It just came out.” Lisa said, her face turning red. “Anyone home?” Brian asked while he stuck his head in the front door. “No.” Julie answered. “Well in that case I’ll just leave.” He was about to walk out the door but Lisa stopped him. “Get back in here Littrell!” she yelled. “Yeah Brian you have to hear about Lisa’s night!” Julie was trying to contain her laughter and was doing quite well. Lisa watched Julie’s face grow a deep shade of red. She grabbed a pillow that was sitting next to her and covered her face with it and started laughing. “Oh don’t worry,” said Brian ignoring Julie’s uncontrolled laughter. “I’ve already heard about it.” “News travels fast I guess.” Brian plopped down on the loveseat next to Lisa and threw his arm around her. “You and AJ.” He sighed. “Me and AJ.” “You and AJ.” He said again. “Me and AJ. Is there something wrong with that?” “Well…he does snore.” Brian started to say. Lisa smacked him on the arm. “Seriously Brian. You know the man. I just met him.” “Lisa if I didn’t trust him with you, he wouldn’t have been here last night.” “Ok then.” “I came over here today to tell you a secret.” Brian said, changing the subject. “And what would that be?” “There’s an audition today for a role in a TV show for Nickelodean.” “Oh I’m there.” Lisa said. “When and where is it?” “It’s at two o’clock.” Lisa looked up at the clock on the wall and saw that it was one o’clock. “Oh man you had to tell me now? I’ve got to get going.” Lisa got up and picked up her purse and headed out the door, saying goodbye to Julie and Brian before she left. She was just about to back out of the driveway when she saw Julie running after her. “You’re not leaving here without me. I want to go too.” She yelled while running to the car. Once she was inside they headed toward the studios. Chapters 5-8 Back to Fanfic Back to Main Page |
