Seven Girls, One Island Chapter 1 “Oh my god.” Leah Graham said to herself as she read the letter she had found in her mailbox. “I won!” She ran up the flight of stares in the apartment building and fumbled with her keys to unlock the door to her apartment. She through everything down by the door as soon as she got inside and ran to the phone. Before she picked it up, she read the letter again to make sure she was reading it right. Dear Mss. Graham We were very glad to have received your letter and we are happy to announce that you are our winner of the Trip of a Lifetime contest. You and your friends will be sent to a small island in the Caribbean. All expenses are paid. All you need are your belongings and your friends. You will be there for about two weeks and do remember this is a survivor type deal. You will be left there by yourselves with only the things you bring. We are looking forward to seeing you and your friends….. She stopped reading and picked up the phone to call all her friends and told them to come over to her place right away. Within a half hour her friends were all over, talking amongst themselves, waiting for Leah to tell them the news. “Ok out with it.” Said Heather Nolan, growing impatient. “What did you want all of us over here for?” “Remember that contest I entered awhile ago, about going on a deserted island for two weeks.” Leah started. “Yeah what about it?” asked one of Leah’s closer friends, Abby Goodman. “Well I won.” Everyone’s jaws dropped to the ground. Then they all busted out into a fit of laughter. They didn’t believe her at all. “If you don’t believe me then read this.” She held up the letter that she had gotten. Kirsten Andrews snatched it out of her hands and read it out loud. “I can’t believe this.” She said after she was finished. “You actually won.” Alexa Donnelly said, finishing Kirsten’s thought. “Cool when do we leave!?” Lisa Harris asked, all for this whole trip. “Well the letter says that we leave a week from next Thursday.” Kirsten answered. “How many people can you bring with you?” The last of her friends, Kelly Foster asked. “No more than ten.” Said Leah. “I guess that means all of you are coming with me then.” “We are going to kill each other.” Alexa pointed out. “Yeah well I’d rather take that chance than to sit around here. Come on guys we’re eighteen! This is out last summer before we go off to college! Let’s make the most of it.” They all looked around at each other. “I’m in.” Said Lisa. “You don’t have to ask me twice. “Yeah count me in too.” Said Abby. “Me three.” Said Kelly. “Sure why not.” Said Kirsten. “It beets being in this stupid town.” “You didn’t even have to ask me. I’m totally in.” said Heather. They all looked back at Alexa. “Oh fine I’ll go too.” She said giving in. “But if I end up killing one of you it’s not my fault. All blame will be put on Leah.” “I can handle that.” Said Leah. Chapter 2 The day finally came and the girls had everything packed that they were able to bring, which of course was only in a backpack. They managed to fit a lot of things in it though so it was all right. The seven girls were all escorted to the airport where they got on a private jet. “Hello ladies.” A tall man said to them as they sat down in their seats. He looked to be in his early twenties, quite nice looking, blond, and pretty masculine. “My name is Alex and if you need anything during you’re flight all you need to do is ask.” “Hi Alex.” Lisa waved. The other girls looked at her and snickered. Lisa loved guys and loved to talk to them if she thought they were attractive. “Hi.” He said back. “I’m Lisa.” “It’s nice to meet you.” He smiled. “If you would excuse me I’m going to sit down. The plane is going to be taking off in a few minutes.” He disappeared behind a curtain and Leah started to laugh. “No matter where we are you manage to find a guy you think is hot.” She said. “You bet.” Lisa replied. “Oh come on you thought he was too.” “That’s beside the point.” “See? I told you.” Said Lisa with a triumphant smile. “Good afternoon ladies, I’m Steve, you’re pilot and I just wanted to wish you a happy flight. We’ll reach Puerto Rico at about 6:00 PM.” And with that the plane taxied and soon enough they were in the air. “Well here’s to hoping we don’t kill each other while we’re gone.” Alexa said dryly. “Way to think positive.” Lisa laughed. “I’m just looking forward to seeing Alex again.” Everyone groaned and rolled their eyes. “This is going to be a long flight.” Said Heather. They landed in Puerto Rico by 5:45 and the girls got off the plane and gathered their things. The whole way there Lisa had been hitting on Alex the whole time and after awhile he started to play along. Lisa and Abby sat there and laughed at Leah the whole time while the others were either listening to music or sleeping. “Now where are we supposed to go?” asked Kirsten. “I have no idea.” They looked around and saw a man and a woman walking toward them, smiling. “Hello ladies did you have a nice flight?” asked the man. He was older, short and balding, but was very nice. “You betcha.” Leah laughed. The man held out his hand to Heather and she shook his hand. “Hi my name is Darrel Severn and I’ll be taking you out to the island and do a little explaining as to what you’re going to be doing out there. And this is Gwen Webber, who is pretty much the head honcho of everything that goes on.” “Well I’m Leah, and these are my friends, Heather, Abby, Alexa, Kirsten, Lisa, and Kelly.” “It’s nice to meet you all.” Gwen said, extending her hand to Leah to shake her head. Then shook everyone else’s hand to be polite. “Well I’d just like to go over a few things before we go any further. You will be out on an island by yourselves for two weeks. There will be no cameramen, no people at all. This is as survival as it gets. But if at any point someone feels that they need to leave, there will be a radio, and you can tell us that you’d like to leave and we will give you further directions. We will start you off with some water, and one iron frying pan, and a pot to boil your water in, along with a bag of rice. That’s all you will get for food. When you run out you’re going to have to fend for yourselves.” “No food? Ok I’m done.” Kirsten said. “Oh you’ll be fine.” Alexa said rolling her eyes. “Ok let’s get this shindig on the road shall we?” Heather said trying to move everyone along. They all got their things and got into a limo where they were taken out to the boat that they’d be taking out to the island. It ended up being a yacht, which made everyone happy. They were told that it would take about an hour to get out to the island so they set all their things down and made themselves comfortable. Kirsten ended up finding the food that had been prepared for them and started digging in. “You know for as small as you are, no one would believe that you eat that much!” Lisa joked. Chapter 3 “Shut up.” She said as she continued digging in. The hour passed by quickly and the girls made sure they were very full before they got to the island, hoping that would help a little when it came to the food they would be given. “Are there any questions before we leave you here?” Darrel asked while helping the girls with their things. “You never did tell us about the prize.” Alexa pointed out. “That is a surprise.” Darrel answered. “Hey I don’t want to stay out here for two weeks if it’s not worth the prize at the end.” “Don’t worry you are going to love it.” He assured them. “So long ladies. We’ll see you in two weeks.” The yacht started back out, leaving the girls alone on the island. “Well we might as well set up camp first.” Heather said. “We just have to figure out where.” “They left us a tarp.” Lisa said while she was searching through on of the two bags that were full of food. “Ok all we need to do is figure out where to put it.” Leah said. “Hey what about in between those trees?” Alexa suggested. They all agreed and started setting up their new home that they would be living in. Heather being smart, brought along a small amount of rope, which helped a lot with putting up the tarp. Once they were finished. They threw down their sleeping bags and their other belongings under it and got some wood so they could make a fire since the sun was going to go down soon. “Now the question is, can we start a fire?” Leah asked when they got all the wood that they would need for the night. “Yes we can.” Heather answered. “I brought matches and some lighters. I saw Cast Away, I don’t want to sit here for hours trying to start the stupid thing.” “Nice thinking.” Said Abby. Once the fire was going, they all sat around it and talked. “Doesn’t this just want to make you sing Kumbiya?” Heather joked. “Who’s got a guitar? We can sing campfire songs.” Everyone started laughing. They finally decided to go to sleep in their new home. It was a bit cramped but they all managed to fit inside. Once they were in, it started to poor. “We got in just in time.” Said Abby. They all got situated, and fell asleep to the sound of the rain hitting the tarp above them. Chapter 4 They all spend the next day playing around on the beach and exploring the rest of the island. There wasn’t very much to it. It was about a fifteen-minute walk to get to the other side of the island. That’s where Heather and Alexa found the radio, the farthest spot from their camp. It was in a black box, covered by a tarp. “It’s a good thing I know where this thing is. I’ll probably be the first one to use this thing.” Said Alexa as they made their way back to the others. “Why’s that?” asked Heather. “Oh come on you know I won’t be able to stay with you guys for two solid weeks. I’m sure I’ll be the first one.” “Well you know they never said we had to be with each other. You can come out here and no one will bother you.” “You know I never thought of that. But I wouldn’t want to be out here by myself.” “Don’t worry I’ll probably be coming out here too.” ---------- “Look guys I’m a monkey.” Kirsten said while sitting in a palm tree. “Want a banana?” “Kirsten those are coconuts.” Leah laughed. “I know that!” “How did you manage to get up there?” Lisa asked looking up in the tree, blocking the sun out of her eyes with her hand. “Um….You know, I have no idea. I think I’m stuck.” “Well now we don’t have to worry about losing Kirsten.” Abby said laughing. “Don’t worry we’ll throw you up some food every once in awhile.” Said Leah. Leah and Lisa watched Kelly run up the beach holding up a fish. “How did you manage to get that?” Lisa asked. “There were a whole bunch of fish around those rocks.” Kelly answered pointing behind her. “So I got a big stick and got one.” She held it up, and they saw that there was a big hole under its eye. “Looks like we’re going to be eating a little lunch today.” Said Abby. “I’ll go get a fire going.” “Now show me where all these fish are.” Lisa said. The two of them started walking off in the other direction once they gave Abby the fish. Leah followed behind them. “I don’t see any fish.” Leah said once they were to the spot where Kelly had caught the fish. “They were here a minute ago. They must have left.” Kelly replied. “Guess we’re not going to be eating all that much.” “Well it’s something.” Said Lisa. They headed back toward camp and saw that Alexa and Heather had found their way back and Kirsten was still up in the tree, trying to find a way to get down. “Guys a little help here?” Kirsten yelled down to them. “You got yourself up there you can get yourself down.” Heather said back to her. “Thanks.” Kirsten mumbled. “We found the radio.” Alexa said. “It’s on the opposite side of the island. You just have to follow that path and it leads you right to it.” “I probably won’t even use it.” Said Leah. “I think I can stick it out.” “Yeah me too.” Said Abby. “I don’t think I’ll use it if I’m up here the whole time.” Kirsten said still trying to figure out a way to get down. “I think I’ve found my new home if you could just throw me a blanket at night I will be just fine.” Chapters 5-8 Back to Fanfic Back to Main Page |
