~Chapter 9~
The forbidden Reconciliation

In anticipation of Graduation, pop singer Vitamin C had written a song called "Graduation Day"  She was coming to a mall near where Daphne lived.  Derek and her went to meet Vitamin C and she told them to "Take care."  They were very proud.  Meanwhile Derek had started going out with Nora Austin, just as Daphne had predicted.  They were together a lot.
In the end of 7th grade, Jay Curtis betrayed Daphne.  She vowed never to even think about forgiving him as long as she lived.  In her deep hatred for him, she told her mother who the real Jay Curtis is was, a druggie who's been the way he is since third grade and had already had run-ins with the police.  She never thought she'd have to ask her mother about doing anything with him again.  But in the middle of May Mr. Finn assigned Jay to Daphne's group for the play.  She just about died!  What had she ever done to Mr. Finn?!?  But after working with him for awhile, Daphne realized that maybe he'd forgiven her for the terrible thing she'd still never uncovered.  So, maybe, just maybe she could forgive him for the two months lost in her life.  She started to laugh at his jokes, wonder at his pondering, and slowly, but surely, stare at his face.  There was one small problem, Beth was in love with him.  Daphne had ranted on and on about how he would kill her heart, and now she like him again  You know hoe Beth is, and this wasn't going to be on of her prettier episodes, that is when she found out...If she found out.
Daphne had also started to get in trouble for "flirting" with Sam Chang by her friends  That's just the way those two were, they liked being near and I guess Daphne's friends would call it being too near to others.
On May 26th, the carnival came to town as it did every Memorial Day Weekend.  A certain Joe Haasch had taken a liking to Daphne and according to her friends, stalked her!  At the carnival, he asked her if she wanted to smoke...Of course she didn't!  She was Daphne...hello!  But she went and she took Libby with her.  Libby was again one of her way too many best friends.  When she came back, Beth Miller was all bent out of shape because in her blondeness, she automatically assumed that Daphne had actually done it and that she shouldn't be getting involved with that crowd again.  Daphne was really thrilled that Beth didn't want her to get lung cancer, (yeah yeah) and she knew that if Jay had asked Beth to, she survey would've.  She stayed pretty mad, make that beyond mad for a few days, but she couldn't stay mad because they didn't want to be in a fight for graduation.
Daphne at the point, though, was starting to think that Derek and Olivia were the only things that weren't bleak in life.  She'd started listening to Eminem, and his lyrics basically took the words out of her mouth.
On May 31, Daphne was at Derek and house, and they also took their first ever trip to Walmart.  They quite enjoyed the welfareness of things and people there!  They found out that Ryan's favorite ex-girlfriend, Jeanette was a bisexual.  What a heartbreak.  And probably for the first time in their 7 month friendship, Daphne told Derek he was her best friend.  Things changed a little, but it was cool and the better.

~Chapter 10~
Gradutation

Finally, graduation had come and gone,  The ceremony was long, but the speech moved people, and sparked memories.
Many people were going to be missed, some for awhile, and some forever.  The photo, movie was excellent and people loved to remember what, things were like when they were youguns.
Daphne had to admit, she rather enjoyed the dance.  She danced with Sam Chang three times, Brandon twice and Chris once.  (That did add up to every dance)  The last day of school I was packed with hair-dye, grass seeds, and free food.  Daphne knew then and there that never, ever would she let these friends go.

PS:
This story is 100% true.  It is written  from memory and accounts in my journal.  Names have been changed, and hopefully no one had any hard feelings from the truth.
