1. The Beatles: Sgt. pepper's lonely hearts club band.
I
think the Beatles is the best rock-n-roll band of all time. and this album is their best. there are 10 Beatle albums on my top 50 list. a few are, Help, Abbey Road, and Let It Be. the Beatles are still special.

2. The Beach Boys: Pet Sounds.
O
ne of finest records every recorded. I didn't care for the Beach
Boys that much until the late 90's. I love "Pet Sounds" so much
I played it until I was blue in the face. it's a great LP. the best songs on this one is "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "God Only Knows". two GREAT songs.

3. The Beatles: Magical mystery tour.
M
y favorite Beatles song is "Strawberry Fields". there are others,  but this one is great. this album has some of the best Beatles songs.
the Beatles is another band I really didn't like as a teen. it wasn't until the late 1980's that I started to dig them. that's an understatement!

Beatles cover

Houses of the holy

4. Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy.
I had a big change of heart this week. I had the "Doors L.A Woman" here but I moved it to the number 23 spot. you can see my top 50 when it's done. I can admit that this is Led Zeppelin's greatest album and it deserves this spot (on MY list). I had it at the number 21 spot. but after listening to it for the first time in a year it blew me away. I can't get it out of my head. it really is better than other LZ albums.

Pink floyd cover

5. Pink Floyd: The dark side of the moon.
I
must have worn out a hundred stylus's playing this album. "Money' is
my favorite. listening to this album on acid is a trip. Dark side of the moon is possibly the best album ever recorded.

Bob dylan cover

6. Bob Dylan: Highway 61 revisited.
B
ob Dylan's best album. some folks disagree,  but to each his own.
there is maybe one or two songs on this LP that I don't like. my favorite song is "Like a rolling stone". this album is historic.

Fleetwood Mac covers

7. Fleetwood Mac: Rumours.
F
leetwood Mac is without a doubt one of the most popular bands of all time. and "Rumours" is their best. I love every song on it. "Gold Dust Woman", "Go Your Own Way", and "The Chain". Rumours is just a great album.

Rolling stones cover

8. The Rolling Stones: Exile on main street.
I
Love this LP. it seams like the Stones have been around since the dawn of man. I won't drive anywhere without my Stones tapes. my favorite tunes are "Shake your hips", "Rip this joint", "Rocks off", and "Tumbling dice".

Led zeppelin cover

9. Led Zeppelin: IV.
O
ne of my favorite songs of all time is "Stairway to heaven". it's a great song. if you haven't see Zeppelin in concert, you're missing pure Rock-N-Roll. and this LP is pure greatness. long live Rock-N-Roll!.

U2 cover

10. U2: The Joshua tree.
I
thought I was in heaven the first time I heard this album. I played it so  much it caused trouble with my girlfriend. she got over it, and I played it to my hearts content. U2 is a great band. this CD is a must.

Electric ladyland cover

11. Jimi Hendrix: Electric Ladyland
A
fter I thought about It I decided to put Electric Ladyland at #11instead of Axis. the pressure was to much. Hendrix fans were killing me!. it's one of the first albums I had as a kid. I had the original cover with the nude chicks on the front.

WHO cover

12. The Who: Live at Leeds.
A
nother great live Album. there are some great tunes on this album. like "My Generation" and "Magic Bus". I was up in the air about putting this at the #12 spot. it was a toss up between this one, and "The WHO". their first album. Live At Leeds won the coin toss.

13. Deep Purple: Made in Japan.
T
his is one of the best live albums that I've ever heard. from "smoke on the water" to "Space Truckin", Deep Purple is one ass kicking band. I think this is their best album. this and Machine Head. I almost got to see them in concert but they didn't show and the riot was on. that night was a bummer.

Bruce springsteen cover

14. Bruce Springsteen:  Darkness on the edge of town.
W
hat can you say about the boss man. he's great. this album is the boss mans best. I dig every song on this album. my favorites are "Bandlands", "Candy's Room", and "The "Promised Land". it's a killer LP!.

Rolling stones cover

15. The Rolling Stones:  "Get yer, ya-ya's out!"
T
he tongue is still going strong after 30+ years. there are songs on this album that are electric! down right BAD. a couple of songs that kicks ass are "The Midnight Rambler", and "Sympathy For The Devil". Mick sure got his ya-ya's? out on this one.

Beatles

16. The Beatles: The White Album.
W
ith all of the albums the Beatles have made, this is one of my favorites. I'm still amazed at the number of hits these guys have made. there is no other band who has had as many hit songs as the Beatles. my favorites are, "Dear Prudence", "Revolution 9", and "Helter Skelter".

YES cover

17. Yes: Close to the edge.
I've seen "YES" two times in concert. and the "Close to the edge"
tour was the best. this album is  their best. I can listen to this one all
day long.  it's on my cross country list. yes! it is.

Jethro tull cover

18. Jethro Tull: Aqualung.
Here's another one I can't leave home without. Aqualung, my friends!
my favorites are  "Mother Goose" and "Aqualung". I love listening to Jethro Tull. I use to have every album they made. Ahh!. the good old days. cruising to the mountains with Tull.

Doors cover

19.The Doors: The Doors.
T
here are a lot of good tunes on this album.  what I love about this one is the way Jim Morrison, and company shake my speakers. BOOM BOOM, man. when one is having a party you got to have some Doors in the wings ready to rock. and this one does...

Disc 3

20. Jimi Hendrix: Band of gypsy's.
This is one of my favorite Hendrix albums. my favorite is Axis: Bold As Love. this album was recorded live at the Fillmore East, in New York. my favorite is "Who Knows". I'm not sure why this song and the CD Live At The Fillmore East sound different? I don't know if all of the songs are live or not.
