Red Jezebel are an indi rock band, hailing from the city of Perth,
Western Australia. Thier cool grooves have had the city in a trance since
before Joyful Possibilities, but with that release thier popularity
reached new heights. They are widely reguarded as Perth's leading new talent
(a title formerly held by the very cool Jebediah) along with Eskimo
Joe, which has obviously helped the sales of thier two locally succesful
EPs, released on local label, Halflight.
This, if you hadn't already noticed is a page about them. It's unauthorised
as well.
Any information published on this page is a reflection of the Red Jez
community. If its wrong... well... um... then... umm... the contributor
is likely to be wrong. Unfortunately, since I'm under age, it's hard for
me to get to the gigs to see the band perform and thus I miss out on lots
of Red Jezebel info firsthand. That's what you're for! HELP ME, I am but
a humble collator of fact! :).

FINALLY! Some Red Jez news to break the drought!
The Jez have been in Loop Studios in Perth recording four new
songs for a release and tour early next year. Tracks recorded were:
All my friends have mobile phones
Jeremy's got the right idea (formerly Where Do
You Go)
Driver (Brand spankin' new. Never performed
live!)
Waving to traffic
They're having a wee break for September, but never fear! They return
with a FREE (love that word) All Ages show for the Artrage
festival on October 1. Then it'll be business as usual.
Friday 6 August, 1999
The only news I've got this week is that if you're headed to this weekend's
Powderfinger/Something For Kate shows at The Lookout, then
you'll be able to catch some Jez action too, since they're the support
act.
Thursday 29 July, 1999
Apparently Red Jezebel need a "Rent a crowd" as they have been asked
to play for some record company people (along with Love Camp 7, Team Jedi
and Gyroscope) on Monday night (2nd August) at the Grosvenor Front Room
. If you like them or any of the other bands do come along 'cause it's
FREE. So help get 'em a deal and head over. It's 18+ only tho, so get those
fake IDs ready :) The gigs from the last update (below) are on tonight
and tomorrow so GO! Have fun!
In other news more than 500 hits have hit this page! Yay!
Friday 23 July, 1999
The Jez, armed with new songs and new instruments are doing some KISS
MY WAMI shows. There's some new Red Jezebel patches that they're apparently
giving away.
These gigs are in the country with Beaverloop.
Friday 23rd ALBANY: Premier Hotel
Saturday 24th COLLIE: Town Hall
Sunday 25th DENMARK (ALL AGES)
These are the city gigs:
Thursday 29th THE LOOKOUT with Love Camp 7 & Team Jedi
Friday 30th GROSVENOR FRONT ROOM with Gyroscope
Saturday afternoon 31st MOJOS (ALL AGES) with Anodyne 500.
These gigs shoud go off, so GO (since my g/f is keeping me at home
I cant, but have fun for me!)!!!
Friday 9 July, 1999
I uploaded some new (or recycled) bits to the Other Bits section
today. I went to the Team Jedi Pilot Sessions CD launch on Wednesday
and grooved completely. The CD is pretty good and I reccomend it to you
if you're into alterna-pop. However the crowd was a bit dead. Is it just
me, or do the majority of indi types find moshing, or even moving in any
way, bad for thier image? Geez the crowd was stagnant, to the point where
the people up the front for Team Jedi's groove-ridden set were sitting.
It probably is just me, but I find that completely ridiculous...
sigh.
Friday 25 June, 1999
Some local dance DJs are going to re-mix a Red Jezebel track for a
forthcoming compilation of local bands done "techno"... I'm hoping for
a nice drum and bass version of Soothers personally or High Wave
Reconstruction all tranced out or something...
Red Jezebel will be interviewed and will play live for Liquid Music
on the new Channel 31, but I'm not quite sure when. There's been a little
speculation around the place as to weather or not they're headed to New
York as I said earlier, and judging from the list of gigs here and the
fact that they're playing for the WAMI awards, I'd say that they're not.
In the near future, Red Jez will be playing at:
All ages 25th June- Northam PCYC Northam (9.30)
Licensed 26th June Grosvenor B room Team Jedi CD launch
Licenced 3rd of July with Gerling (the Enter Space Capsule
people) at Grosvenor Back room.
Since Chris has just bought a pile of expensive new gear, these gigs
should be sounding something spesh.
