Panaché Culture

founded 1986, Belgium
Panache Culture was formed in 1986 and right from the start it was "Clash of Cultures, Clash of Rhythms". It was streetlife which brought them together and teached them music. The name of the band means in English : Various Cultures, and indeed, their nationalities include those of Morocco, Senegal, Italy, Greece, Belgium and when we add the additional musicians : Jamaica, England and Zaire. So now you'll understand why they add a next dimension to reggae music, they really create a colourful and varied sound.

Did you know that Panache Culture is not only a talented studio band, but also a very interesting and entertaining live band ? Over the past few years they made over 600 live performances in Belgium, France, Holland and Germany ! And .... apart from these performances in their own right they were the backing band for several big name artists.

Their Tell Them! CD was well-received and got excellent reviews in respected music magazines like The Beat, Dub Missive, Echoes and much more, while the cd-single taken from this album entitled "Dreadlock Holiday" became a hit in Germany and got picked up in Italy as well.

For 2 years they worked hard to get their last album together, entitled Travel In A Dream again mixed at the Ariwa Sounds Studios by the Mad Professor, and featuring some fine additional musicians in the horn section : 'The Man from Wareika', Rico Rodriguez and master musician Michael "Bammie" Rose.

It features a variety of styles ranging from their brilliant new Arab influenced tracks to ragga style songs, and front classical roots to horns-instrumentals ina 70's stylee.

Right now Panache is working hard in the studio for their new album that will probably coming out in November 1999.
