NEWS!!!
1/2/02---AKA Nothing is now officially on hiatus. Possibly for good. If you didn't get to see us recently, well, that's just too bad. Thanks to everyone who came to our shows and supported us for the past five years. It was a blast.
10/5/01---The "All Took Up" CD is sold out. There are no more left, so don't order it anymore. It may be repressed (on real CDs this time) on the Record Labelation. If it is, it will have 15-20 bonus tracks and still cost $5ppd.
OLD NEWS
9/24/01---Nick and Gabe have been replaced. The new guys are Paul on drums and Chris on bass. Their first show with us will be on the 29th in San Jose. See the shows page for details on this.
9/12/01---nick and Gabe quit the band. They sight creative differences as the reason but we think they just couldn't handle the strains of rock star life. I can't say they will be missed, but they will be replaced! Anyone play bass out there? I mean play bass well. Well, mabybe it's your lucky day. E-mail Ryan Nothing and plead your case as to why you should be our bass player. That's all for now.
9/1/01---News update: There is no news! None! Here's a quick member update. Ryan Nothing is a big lazy loser. He still takes kung fu, though. Jesse still likes cars and he goes to Chabot College. Gabe works at a video store I think, and smokes a lot of pot because he's a fucking loser like that. Nick is still a skinhead. He still drinks and hangs out with the boys. Ryan P.A. is living on a boat in the Berkeley Marina and is going to UC Berkeley. We have no shows coming up because we are fucking pathetic (all member, none are exempt from this revelation). Possibly November at Gilman but then again, maybe not. That's about it. Buy "Based On a True Story."
8/3/01---We are currently working on songs for a new album that we will possibly record in early 2002. Ryan Nothing's solo project entitled "The Amazing Human Vulture and Things Similar to the Amazing Human Vulture" is currently in production. He has completed 15 of a tentative 99 songs spanning various genres such as punk, rock'n'roll, power violence, spoken word, rap, and techno. It is being recorded at Punk Ass Studios in San Leandro and is coming out utterly amazing! It will be available at shows as soon as it is finished. Ryan Punk Ass' solo album is still available and it rocks equally as hard. That's the news for now. Hope to see everyone at Tower on Sunday! R.P.A.
5/28/01---The new Ryan Punkass solo album is here. Go to the merchandising page for more info. There is a possibility that Gabe may record an instrumental techo/metal album titled "Ice Storm of Death" for release around August. This is not confirmed by Gabe's management but is most likely true. It is rumored that it will be released on Ryan Punkass' Pat Riot Records, but there have been no comments from PRR headquaters to confirm this rumor.
*We will be playing Gilman St. again on June 29th. This will kick off our tour beginning the next week. This tour will cover most of the west. Watch out for the dates soon. We will also be recording a live 7-inch with Los Vigilantes on May 26th in Salinas. Also, in the works is Ryan Punk Ass' solo album, tentatively titled "I Hate Punks." It will be around 30 rock 'n' roll covers from the 50s and 60s. Out by mid June.
*The new CD will be out in a few weeks. It will rock you! Also, coming soon will be a series of live CDs entitled "Live Stuff That Should Have Never Been Released." Each will be limited to 100 copies and will cost $2. Buy them to feel the energy, power, fury, and stupidity that is an AKA Nothing show.
*Thanks to everyone who came out to Gilman St. We had a good time. Check out the shows page for more upcoming shows. You can mail order t-shirts for $10 or pick one up at a show. The cd should be out in March or April.
*Well, after months of arguing, anger, frustration, blood, tears, and work, the new record is just about done. Only one more day worth of mixing and that's it! It will be amazing. It will be available from us and in some stores.
