Friends what a great program. At first glance it seems like just another American twenty-somethings comedy, but it is much more than that. It is a fast moving, very witty almost English stlye comedy about life. The characters are true to life and very believable which makes the program.
The characters are:
Ross Geller - David Schwimmer
Ross is an unfortunate guy who was married and is now separated when his wife left him for another woman while pregnant with his son. He then spent the whole of the second series chasing after Rachel a High School crush only for her to fall in love with him when he was seeing another girl. They got together eventually but split up with her and lost any chance of getting back with her when he had sex with the Xerox girl while they were 'on a break'! Now he is in the process of marrying an English lass but Rachel has told him that she still loves him and it would appear he does as well....

Monica Geller - Courtney Cox
She is obsessed by cleanliness and everything has to be the way she wants it or she can't sleep at night. She has very little lucj with men although she had a serious relationship with a much older man, Richard Burke played by Tom Selleck, before they broke up over the age difference thing. Has been out of work a lot but is now working as a chef in a restaurant where everybody hates her.

Rachel Green - Jennifer Aniston
The lovely Rachel used to work at Central Perk, a coffee house, as a waitress after jilting her husband to be at the alter. She was brought up in a rich family and used to live off her parents. Has had a few flings with men who dumped on her before getting with and splitting up with Ross. She then went on to work as a sales person at her favourite shop Bloomingdales. Still in love with Ross and went to the wedding to see him causing the cliff hanger at the end of series 4.

Phoebe Buffet - Lisa Kudrow
Phoebe is a dizzy, hippy like masseur. She can be either really insightful or really dippy. Usually dippy! Used to live on the streets after her step-mum committed suicide before moving in with her grandmother. Then she found out she was adopted and went to find her real mum, who was as dizzy as she was. She ha a regular gig at Central Perk where she plays her 'unusual' brand of guitar. Her songs include the famous 'Smelly Cat' which was released with someone elses voice and 'The Snowman Song' about her mothers suicide.

Chandler Bing - Matthew Perry
Chandler is the funny, wise cracking one who has a lot of trouble with women. Lives with Joey across the hall from Monica and Rachel.

Joey Tribiani - Matt Le Blanc
The stupid, thick, bad actor of Italian decsent who can't help but be thick. Always getting his words muddled but does have a lot of girlfriends usually all at the same time.
