Get your own Free Home PageThere's nothing I find more discouraging, then people, mainly friends, who are willing to pay 40-50 bucks to see BIG NAME BANDS like Our Lady Peace, Matchbox 20, etc, but not willing to pay 5 or 7 dollars to see their friends play! (I totally understand if their parents won't let them, or they have no money, but...) People complain in Ottawa that theirs never anything to do, I find! Well, why can't people just take a chance and and pay a good cheap price to check out a local band showcase, or even a no name band from somewhere whose name you can't even pronounce!! What do you got to lose? A few bucks! What do you got to gain? Some genuine, straight from the heart music! And if your still one of those people who only likes seeing the BIG NAME BANDS, well, every band basically starts from the ground up! (excluding major label clones like Backstreet Boys, and Spice Girls!) Look at U2 as an example! They've only played in Ottawa once...at Barrymores, before anyone knew them! Now look at them! There the biggest band in the World!! Will they ever come back to Ottawa? Nope! Probably because not alot of people showed to much interest here when the first came, not to many bands like bandwagon cites, and you know what they say! First impression's last forever!! So who knows, the next NOFX, or Metallica, or Nirvana could be putting on a garage concert next door to you, but you don't wanna go because a canned good or 2 ucks is too much!! Oh well!!
