Backstreet Boys (ALL-STARS)
America's Most Successful 'Unknown' R&B Group!
Kevin, Brian, Nick, Howie and A.J. are finally bringin' it
home!
I found myself singing into a banana," says a slightly road weary Nick
Carter, but then what would you expect from a cutie who's been on two
whirlwind tours of almost every major music-loving country in the world?!!
He's exhausted! You can't blame a guy for not noticing that his equally road
tired band buddies-Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson and
Brian Littrell-tied a banana to his stage mic in order to have some fun
andto keep themselves from going batty during their nearly two-year-
long trek away from home!
Ah, home! For the phenomenally talented Backstreet Boys, home,
family and another spot on the U.S. music charts have been hazy dreams they
were hoping to experience once again. But now, these serious babes are
about to have their wildest dreams come true-they're comin' home! That's
right! The guys who have racked up 10 million in worldwide record sales,
whose debut efforts went multi-platinum in 16 different countries and scored
four Top Ten singles-including a Number One single, "Quit Playin' Games
(With My Heart)" - and who have toured the globe extensively, are comin'
back to the States to reintroduce themselves to the folks at home!
It All Happened So Quickly ...
...the Backstreet Boys barely knew what had hit them! It seemed like just
yesterday that they'd hooked up in Orlando, frequently covering lots of great
old R&B pop hits. "We'd go to local labels and sing a cappella in their
foyers," remember Howie. "We'd sing anywhere, for anybody." Finally, they
got the nod from Jive Records, and their joyful, danceable sidle, "We've got It
Goin' On," hit the Billboard charts. Success! The single started to climb up,
up, up! Then suddenly, the song just burst the top off the boy group-happy
European scene, and BSB were called overseas! That was 1996, and except
for visits to reintroduce themselves to family members, the Boys haven't
really 'worked' their home turf in America since then! But all that's changing
now!
Backstreet Boys are back, and their record company has released "Quit
Playin' Games (With My Heart)" right here. Next month, their first official
U.S. album-called Backstreet Boys, natch!-hits the stores, and
America will get to know the Boys they lent to Europe, Asia, Australia and
Canada. How do the Backstreet Boys feel about all this? "We've always
wanted to bring it back home," says Nick sincerely. "But we wanted to make
sure we brought it back strong." And strong it is! That low roar you hear is
the whole world cheering for their Backstreet Boys faves and the Boys
exhilarating ride home!
