okay, so these are some links to a few of my favorite bands. a couple of the bands are now defunct, and a couple of them are still going strong, and all the homepages i listed seemed pretty cool and informative.

the first link is to the Dischord homepage. this is the label for fugazi, and a bunch of other d.c. area bands. fugazi rocks my world. i own all their cds. i was in pure heaven when they toured through here. ian mackaye is a god.

the next band that i own all the cds for is jawbreaker. they were a kick ass band, even if they did sign onto geffen records 0:)

another one of my favorite bands was sunny day real estate. the lead singer, jeremy enigk, has a solo album out now, and the drummer from sunny day is now in the foo fighters. if you want to buy a really cool album, pick up diary.

i started listening to emo type stuff recently, and a lot of the bands i like are on crank records. boys life is on that label, mineral, jimmy eat world, and sense field have put stuff out on that label...it's kind of the gathering place for emo bands.

my favorite new cd is by the promise ring. it's called 30 degrees everywhere, and i take it wherever i go. they are from wisconsin, i think. if you liked cap'n jazz, chances are you'd like the promise ring, as one of the ex members from cap'n jazz is in this band.

one of my alltime favorite bands is the rudiments. they are a skacore type band from san francisco, and a lot of fun to listen and dance to. Another ska band i recently heard, like, last night, maybe....is kongo shock. they reside in phoenix, which is where i sorta live (straddling the in between right now, i am stuck in south dakota for another month before i move back). kongo shock plays every wednesday night at boston's (or so i'm told), and they are one of the better ska bands i've heard for awhile. plus they're into computers and star wars. another nice ska band that took the time to hang out with me was mu330. they, too, are sci-fi fantasy nuts. i watched them shop around k-mart, lewis drug, and rainbow comics and cards looking for star trek and spawn figures. it's nice to know we're all geeks together, isn't it?

the last link i found was for a longtime favorite band of mine, face to face.

take me home, keep your eyes on the road
