CAMRA

Pic of serving at beer festival CAMRA, for those who don't already know, stands for the CAMpaign for Real Ale. I am a member of the Dudley branch. The main aim of the organisation isn't to get drunk every night as some may think. In fact we aim to promote real ale by organising events such as beer festivals where members of the public can taste examples of good beer from around the country. Over the last few years, I have been one of a bunch of people who have helped to put on two festivals a year in Dudley. These have been very successful. Unfortunately, the summer festival has been too successful. The number of people attending has grown out of proportion and there are now too few volunteers to serve the beer to such a mass of people. We hope to sort out the problem for next year. If you would like to help, get in touch. It's good fun where there are enough of us. The photo is one I took at the summer festival a couple of years ago. As you can see, we don't just think about beer.
