Internal Bleeding

"I dominate the hell blackened night, we now destroy" - Prophet of the Blasphemes

Long Island's very own Internal Bleeding was formed in mid 1991 by guitarist Chris Pervelis and the original lineup included Brian Richards (vocals), Tom Slobowski (bass), William Tolley (drums), and Anthony Miola (guitar). Needless to say that original lineup did not last long. Tom and Brian were ousted and they were replaced by John Colucco (bass) and Eric Winger (vocals)who was in Chris' previous band Autunm Reign)

Shortly after the lineup changes the band moved to Mineola, NY and released a live rehearsal tape titled "The One Dollar Demo." The demo did lack a lot in the production department, but hey, it was a good start.

Thanx to laziness John and Eric were thrown out and replaced by Brian Hobbie (bass) and Wallace Milton (vocals). "Invocation of Evil", the band's second demo, was released and recieved massive promotion from fanzines and radio stations. The demo was later released on CD and cassette through Wild Rags Records and sold 5,000 units!!

Another vocalist change was made as Bill Tolley, yes the drummer, replaced Wallace Milton on the demo "Perpetual Degradation" which was released in 1994. The demo went straight to CD and cassette. In support of their new demo the band embarked on a tour....with Frank Rini as their permanent vocalist. During this tour Internal Bleeding caught the attention of Pavement music while performing at the Milwaukee Metalfest. The band signed on the dotted line and began writing material for their highly anticipated debut "Voracious Contempt."

"Voracious Contempt", one of the heaviest Death Metal albums I have ever heard, was released in 1995 and a tour soon followed. The bands fanbase was rapidly growing while on tour. Internal Bleeding, in the spring, toured with Six Feet Under and Immolation. I attended one of their shows not knowing who Internal Bleeding was, I honestly went to see my favorite Death Metal band Six Feet Under. Directly after Immolation left the stage Internal Bleeding invaded the Roxy like a hurricane that showed no mercy. My ears soon began to deafen as the band roared on and provided their fans a show that they will never forget. Internal Bleeding left a long lasting impression on me.

The band decided to lay low after an extremely succesful tour. With their creative juices once again flowing the band began writing new material. "The Extinction of Benevolence" was finished, but the band's record label, Pavement Records, ran into trouble. Their distrbutor majorly fucked them over leaving countless copies of records unshipped. A few months later the public was able to buy Internal Bleeding's latest offer as Pavement found a new distributor (hopefully this one won't do any fuckin'). Sadly, Frank Rini, the long time vocalist of the band, left to persue a career as a security guard kickin' punks' asses all over the place. ( Don't attempt shop lifting when you see this big, hulking man!) He was replaced by Ryan Schimmenti, formerly of Disfigured, and another tour followed.

After countless lineup changes the band is still going strong and constantly recieving praise from their fans, The Internal Bleeding Hit Squad.
