CHANNEL [V] MUSIC AWARDS 1997

The award ceremony was held on 18th August in New Delhi, India. The show made me very envious of people over there! It was exactly Indian music awards, yet was broadcasted across Asia via all devisions of Channel [v] networks in Asia include my Channel [v] Thailand.

Jon was exactly the King of this stage. He performed 3 songs, accepted 3 awards and when he presented an award for an old Indian legend singer who received most awards that night, it was exactly the presenter who received such responses! LOL! (at least, I was hearing only "JON BON JOVI...JON BON JOVI" when the winner was trying to give a speech, poor winner, huh?

Other familiar faces at the ceremony were No Doubt, Spice Girls, Peter Andre, and Code Red.

First time of Jon Bon Jovi on the stage was when "Best International Male Artist" was presented. Jon ups there receiving the award , he beat Jamiroquai, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Seal and Peter Andre. Then the host asked him for his performance. Jon said "Yeah" and went across the stage to another side and pick up his guitar. Then the cool song, "Queen Of New Orleans" was presented. He was so gorgeous ...like ever. : )

Half an hour later, he was up the stage again. The presenter came up to present a special award called "Outstanding Achievment In Internatianal Music" and said...

"The recipient of this award started his career sweeping floors in the New Jersey recording studios, in return the studio time to record his songs. Now..one thing led to another... the recipient's 3rd album took the world by storms, sold more than fifty (or fifteen) million copies. In meantime, his albums have sold over 75 million copies. And he's also a movie actor, a songwriter and all around rock'n'roll star."

The monitor sums up Jon's distances with previous interview on [ v ]

Jon was like ...."they should have had a seat for me on the stage!" He came up and said...

" Thank you all very much for this. It sounds like those awards when you are at the end of your career but it's just getting started. It just keeps better then ever in every record I make. Could or couldn't continue to make records is up to the supportings by you who buy those records to listen to the music. I thank you all very much for them. So I'll be here again with myself, Richie, Tico, David and Hugh. See you again next time around, O.K.? "

Then Jon got back to perform another song with his Takamene (Dallus Sucks) on the song, "Janie, Don't Take Your Love To Town".

One more award for Jon "Outstanding In Film Debut Award". The host said to Jon that was just an award for music career and there was another one for movie from.....(the presenter who was kindof 'Babe') You know...Jon held her shoulders then took her away like she was his award and gave back the word, "THANK YOU!" with that 'smile' ...you know ...that smile! That was a little excitement for both the presenter and Jon's die-hard fans.

And kindly, Jon gave another performance on the ROCK, "Wanted Dead Or Alive". He looked so happy.

That's it.
