Kram, Whitt and Janet come from a small rural town in New South Wales called Finley. The band formed in 1989 in melbourne. Spiderbait are primalary a Punk rock band but in some releases there is also a bit of reggae and funk in there music.

There debut album shasahvaglava, croation for stupid head, dick head or idiot head was released around 1993 some time. The two years or so before this saw there first single cirkle k and then a year after that the ep "P'TangYangKipperBangUh" was realleased. This ep contained one of spiderbaits most well known songs at the time "old man sam". "Old man sam" was played a lot on request at triple J when it was first released.

It took spiderbait a few years to produce there next album called "The unfinished Spanish Galleon of Finley Lake" After That it was "Ivy and the big apples" this album is excelent. If you haven't already got it, turn off your computer and go get it now!
