Special Article
of the month

Digging up the Archive in order to tidy things up a bit, I came across various very interesting articles I had either forgotten about or failed to stress the importance of. The sort of articles people tend to call 'must-reads'. Some display really good writing, others reveal interesting things about the band, or delve deeper into things and come up with observations never-before expressed. Or combinations of the above. Either way, I felt the need to make these articles stick out so that more people can read them. Thus, this new section of the Archive was created! Welcome to the Special Article of the Month page...

Last Plane To Jakarta - fall 01: Amnesiac
Three in-depth analyses of the album

To me, Amnesiac was an under-rated and under-appreciated album. When it arrived just 8 months after The Most Talked-About Album of the Last Decade, its fate couldn't be much different. People were going to treat it as leftovers no matter what the band kept saying, and the shock factor just wasn't there any more. Not to mention that the band had to receive some so-and-so reviews after so much praise, didn't they? The fact remains, though, that not too much attention was paid to it, at least not the attention it deserved. However, some people strayed from the herd and listened closely. The above three articles are reports of their exploration into the world of Amnesiac, and the band in general. Hidden nuances are brought to the fore, tiny little musical ideas are savoured, whole little worlds are revealed within each song. Three beautiful, well-written and highly enjoyable articles. Note the exquisite presentation of the Last Plane To Jakarta feature!
