Believe it or not, this recording was made on July 6, 1957, the very day in which John Lennon met Paul McCartney for the first time. Sound quality is not the best possible, but still this is a historic performance.

I looked for this recording for years, and I believe many of you fellows have done the same. This is a song Paul composed and was recorded by John Cristie in 1974. It's a totally, beautiful unknown Macca-song!! Don't miss this file!!

Thanks a lot to my beatlepal Helio, without whom I wouldn't have this recording yet, and neither would you. Enjoy!

The second number from Best Buy bonus single is a catching country number with a beautiful steel guitar melody. The melody sometimes evoques the classic tune "Crying", from Ringo's famous "Rotogravure" album.

The final number from Best Buy bonus single is a hit-style rockiong number. It's a shame it's only released on this promotional single, since it has all the elements to become a hit: a rough guitar riff as intro, a catching chorus and a good message: "Good news is on the way". This line is maybe a reference to the promotional slogan for "Help!"(the film): "Help is on the way!".

When Ringo's "Vertical man" came out, it was immediatelly noted that "Drif away" was one of the best tracks. Few people remembered it is a cover of an old song by Dobie Grey. Here's the also beautiful, soulfull oringal version.

As we know, during the sixties, The Beatles usually wrote songs to other artists. Most of these songs were never properly recorded by themselves, and remain lost treasures. In early seventies, an album called "The songs Lennon and McCartney gave away" was released, and that's where this original Tommy Quicly version of "Tip of my tongue". The other version is from "It's four you", the outstanding beatle-album by the Beatnix, a wonderful Australian band.

This song is going was released on December by Paul McCartney. It was recorded in mid-eighties, with the production of Phil Ramone. This tape has recently surfaced for trade among collectors. The released version saw some re-work, but this is the original tape. Sound quality is not the best possible, but it yet it's a good listening. We wander why Paul left this gem unreleased for such a long time.

Let's be honest to ourselves. Everbody loved Anthology and nobody would like to see Paul, George and Ringo making a concert together. However, who wouldn't like to hear a truly new recording, a completly unknown performance of the Threetles?
During the making of Anthology, they were filmed doing "Blue moon of Kentucky". This is the aydio clip of this performance. Enjoy!

Before "Vertical man" was released, a promo version of "Drift away" was given to radio stations. This promo version included Steve Tyler doing lead vocals instead of Tom Petty. Tyler's lead vocal was cut in demand of his record company.
