* There are plenty of great web sites dedicated to the awesome "classic" Molly Hatchet, so I'm going to begin this effort by gearing my site toward the latest incarnation of the band instead of giving you info you can get elsewhere. We'll see if this works out...*

New Release!

I apologize for the lack of updates lately. I'm building a house, and frankly I haven't had the time to properly maintain my websites. I hope to have them back to speed sometime this spring. Thanks!

The current lineup is:

McCormack

Molly Hatchet's original lineup gradually moved on since the early 80's, culminating with Danny Joe Brown's leaving the band in 96 due to health reasons. Guitarist Bobby Ingram, who joined the band as a replacement for Dave Hlubek after playing in Danny Joe Brown's solo act, has stepped up as the band's leader. Phil McCormack, who covered Molly Hatchet songs for years as the lead singer of the Virginia-based RoadDucks, was asked to take over lead vocals on the 1996 album Devil's Canyon. IMHO he's done an outstanding job in taking on the impossible task of "replacing" Danny Joe Brown.

While the sound has changed from the tree-felling axe blasts of Hlubek/Roland/Holland, it's still some great music in the same tradition. For example, the guitar opus on The Journey is cut from the same mold as Henry Paul's Grey Ghost, for those of you familiar with that awesome song from the album of the same name. Their new album Silent Reign of Heroes was released June 16, 1998.

The 1996 album Devil's Canyon was followed by Silent Reign of Heroes, released June 16, 1998. Following Devil's Canyon's format by ending the album with an acoustic remake, SROH ends with an excellent acoustic version of Dave Hlubek's Fall of the Peacemakers.

Now I look back on yesterday,
Wondering what I've done;
Did I help somebody along the way, or
Did I just look out for number one?

You are fan # to find my Tribute Site.

Thank You!
