So who am I?
I'm an electronic musician who works for
Devil's Thumb
Entertainment. I compose
music, do sound design for their video games,
and manage the music department.
I've been involved with electronic music
for over 10 years now. My first major
project was a synth-pop band called
Fluorescent Echo, which was founded in 1989
and split apart in 1993. After
the band, I spent my time at college studying Computer
Science, Music
Technology and Multimedia development. I'm still at school part-time
and
working at Devil's Thumb ALL the TIME... (or so it seems!)
My intentions for developing this web page is to help electronic musicians
network
with each other. Wether it be finding that rare electronic release
or sharing info on
MIDI arranging or digital recording. Electronic music is
fairly popular at the moment,
so getting interest in the subject won't be
that difficult I suspect. But there was a
time, (not too long ago), and I
suspect it will happen again soon, when
Electronic music wasn't very well
respected (ESPECIALLY IN THE U.S.)
--all you Nirvana disciples and Pearl
Jam wannabes you know who you are....
Anything predominately synthesizer
in the early to mid 90's was immediately frowned
upon. This was a tough
time for me, and other American electronic musicians as well.
We must stick
togethor and network, because the acoustic-hungry masses will be
looking
down their noses at us again in the future! Mark my words.
OK, enough ranting. Enjoy these pages and e-mail me with any more info or
questions.
Thanks,
RF
