Michael is a producer, songwriter, and performer blessed with many artistic talents. He has numerous original compositions registered with the Library of Congress Copyright Office. He enjoys making music, writing peotry, and computers.
Michael began his music career at the age of twelve singing with the Macedonia Baptist Church of Akron, Ohio. He Began playing keyboards after receiving a keyboard as a high school graduation gift. Michael soon discovered that he could play by ear. He played Prince's "Purple Rain" after hearing it once in a movie theater. Michael studied music at Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. During his undergraduate years at Kent State, he performed in his first talent show sponsored by a fraternity. Michael won first place performing a song he wrote and produced himself. Since then he has produced music for many local artist, performed for weddings, and in various talent shows including the Akron Annual Easter Talent Showcase. While completing his Master of Arts degree at the University of Akron, Michael has had some of his songs and some music he produced for others aired on the university's radio station WZIP/88.1 FM.
Michael is inspired by music artists: Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Brian McKnight, Teddy Riley, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Roger Troutman, Prince, and The Winans. Michael has developed a style of his own. He likes writing ballads and producing music with smooth grooving beats. Michael's music can be classified as R&B/Pop. He also has numerous instrumental compositons which can be classified as Hip Hop Jazz.
