Jonny Greenwood was born On November 5th, 1971 in Oxford, England. He has very definite cheek bones, and lots of stage presence. He is not the only Greenwood in the band. He performs alongside his older brother, Colin(Bass), who can't believe how grown up his little brother is now. "I remember him wearing flared pants and loud shirts," says Colin.
Jonny is colour blind and very shy, but I've heard that he's nice, sweet, even.
"Jonny and his astonishing bone-structure - it's a face built entirely on right angles, clustered around Mic Jagger's lips - is collapsed on the sofa. Having revealed within 10 minutes that he's against the idea of artistic immortality - 'Bach lost things and threw things away: he set the gospels to music and one of them has just disappeared. I rather like that idea. Creating in the moment and not worrying what happens to youe music in the future' - and that he is, horrifically enough, beginning to become bored with guitars, he now sits and idly finger-combs his hair."
Jonny has such a great thirst for new sounds that he has screwed up his guitar with little knobs and hooks. He is still looking for the perfect atonal chord.
"It's always ladies' night with Radiohead," commented Jonny with a lusty smile on the fact that 60% of their audiences are female. The band says that they don't get much in the way of groupies or the whole sex side of things, except by letter. Jonny once had a naked woman hammering at his hotel room door in L.A. Only by letters, eh? Colin says that on tour, he is Jonny's moral guardian. "I try to get him to drink and womanize, but he's never interested."
