Thom Yorke was born on October 7th, 1968 in Wellingborough, England. He sings and plays the inaudible guitar in the band.
Thom wrote the song Creep as a joke, but ended up getting lots of letters from people that didn't see the joke. When asked where his vocal naformelity comes from, he told MuchMusic that:
"Eeuuuh... uhm... I don't... think... I know... uhm... I think that it somes from... nowhere at all... that I know... of... and it's fairly embarrassing because whenever I sit down and look for it, it's never there."
And when Select Magazine asked Thom if he knew just how good OK Computer is, he replied:
"No. No I don't. I'm not convinced. It makes me laugh, and it annoys me occasionally... it's supposed to offend, and you have to concentrate to listen to it. You can't just pop it in the backround. We did a lot of experimenting..." He sighs and stops. "I'm not doing a very good sales job, am I?"
