Chapter 1

"Nic, are you available tonight?" her boyfriend Howie asked. "Yeah, baby. Why?" she asked. "Just trust me. Tonight, 7:00. Wear a dress if possible." he said. "Yes, sir" she joked, kissing him. He pulled her closer, running his hands through her hair. He gently pulled away. "I have to go" he said softly. "I'll miss you" she said, twirling one of his loose curls around her finger. "I'll miss you more" he said, gently kissing her neck. "You better go before I don't let you leave" she whispered in his ear. He gently unwrapped his arm from her waist. "7:00. " he said, walking away. "I love you" she called after him. "I love you , too" he called back. Nicole squealed and ran into her sister's room. "I need your help, Liss" she cried, pulling Melissa's book out of her hand. "What?" Melissa asked, annoyed. "Liss, I'm going out with Howie tonight----" "So what else is new?" Melissa asked sarcasticly. "Shut up and listen to me for a minute. He told me its something special. Help me find something to wear!" Nicole said. "Nic, you two have been dating for years. What could be so special about another date?" Melissa asked. "When you love someone as much as I love Howie, every date is special" Nicole said. "Wait a sec!" Melissa cried suddenly. "What?" Nicole asked. "You guys have been together for a long time, haven't you?" she asked. "Yeah, 3 years" Nicole said. "Nic, he is gonna ask you to marry him tonight" Melissa said. "Oh my God, you're right!" Nicole cried. "Nic, you are 21 years old. He is 25. You are too young for him, and too young to get married" Melissa said. "4 years makes no difference" Nicole said, "And we love each other. We can get married." "Well, it's 5:00 you better get going" Melissa said. Nicole screamed and ran into her room. She pulled a light blue sundress out of her closet adn ran back into Melissa's room. "This good?" she asked. "Howie's favorite color is purple" Melissa reminded her. "I don;t have a purple dress" Nicole said. "Then wear that" Melissa said. Nicole ran back into her room and put the dress on. She ran back into Melissa's room. "What am i gonna do to my hair?" she asked. "Curl it" Melissa said. "That'll take an hour!" Nicole cried. "It's only 5:30" Melissa said. Nicole ran into the bathroom. She carefully curled her hair and clipped it with a pearl barrette. "This good?" she asked, running back into Melissa's room. "Yes, now go do your make-up" Melissa said. Nicole ran back into her own room. She finished her make-up and ran back to Melissa. "Too much? Too little?" she asked. "It's fine" Melissa said, "what earrings are you wearing?" "My gold hoops in my front hole, my pearls in my second, and my diamonds in my third." Nicole said. "Perfume?" Melissa asked. "Sun, Moon, and Stars. Howie's favorite" She replied. "So go finish and hurry, it's 6:45" Melissa said. Nicole ran into her room and finished getting ready. "How do I look?" she asked. "You look great, now go wait for your boyfriend" Melissa said giving Nicole a little push. Nicole ran down the stairs as the doorbell rang. She opened it and threw herself into Howie's arms.
