Chapter 7
Nic smiled. "I love you, too, D." She whispered. Howie held his good
arm out to her. Nic smiled as he pulled her into his arms and kissed her.
"Why don't we get married now?" Nic asked. "You mean here?" Howie asked.
"Yeah, why not? I'll call the guys and our parents and Liss and your sisters
and brother. We can be married by 7 tonight" Nic said. "Sounds good" Howie
said, smiling from ear to ear. "You look like a little boy on Christmas Eve"
Nic said laughing. Howie laughed and kissed her mouth softly. Nic hopped out
of his arms and ran to a phone and called Nick and Liss. "Nick, I love you!
You were right!" Nic said, giggling like a 16 year old. "See told ya!" Nick
said, laughing. "Listen, we're getting married tonight Get Liss, and ask
her to bring me my white sundress" Nic said. "Ok, see ya soon, Nikki" Nick
said. Nic called her parents, Howie's parents, Howie's sisters and brother,
and the rest of the guys. "You're really getting married now?" Brian asked
excitedly when Nic called him. "Yes, we're really getting married now so get
your behind to the hospital!" Nic said, laughing. Brian laughed. "See ya
soon" Nic said, hanging up. She ran back into Howie's room and saw him fast
asleep with a doctor by his side. "Is he ok?" Nic whispered, bracing herself
for the worst. "Oh, don't worry, he's fine. I just gave him something to help
him sleep because I heard that he's getting married tonight." the doctor
said. Nic smiled. "Yes, he is." She said. "To who? You're his sister,
right?" The doctor asked. "Um, actually, I'm his fiancee, not sister." Nic
said, smiling from ear to ear. The doctor smiled. "You've got quite a guy,
here. He loves you very very much, I can tell" the doctor said. Nic smiled.
"I love him very, very much as well." She said, smiling at Howie's sleeping
face. "If you want, you can sleep in the bed with him for awhile. I know you
need it." The doctor said. "Thanks" Nic said, gently laying beside her
fiancee. The doctor checked Howie's vitals and left. Nic snuggled close to
him and closed her eyes. She could feel Howie's arms tighten around her in
his sleep. She fell asleep in his arms and didnt wake up until Howie shook
her awake at 6:30 that night. "Baby, you better get up and get dressed, we're
getting married in a half hour." He whispered. Nic smiled, but didn't open
her eyes. "Just five more minutes, baby, please" she begged quietly. "No,
sleep later, wedding now" Howie said, smiling as he kissed her nose. Nic
opened her eyes and kissed his mouth very softly. "You better get up before I
do something I just might regret later." Howie whispered. Nic laughed and
stood up. Howie watched her go, thinking of the events that would take place
later that night. As if she could read his mind, Nic turned around and said
"Behave yourself." Howie laughed as she walked out of the room. Howie sighed
as Nick walked in. "Hey man, nervous yet?" he asked. "More than you can
imagine." Howie admitted. "Don't worry. Nic loves you more than anything, and
I know you love her just as much, if not more." Nick said. "That's just it.
I've never felt like this before. I am so afraid of losing her to someone
younger and better looking." Howie said. "Like me?" Nick teased. "Yes.
Nick, you are so close to Nic. I am so afraid that you two will fall in
love." Howie said. "I've known Nic my whole life. She's been my best friend
since we were 5. Trust me, we're not going to fall in love." Nick said. "But
you have feelings for her don't you?" Howie asked. "I did when we were
younger. I think I was 15 and she was 18. She was dating some jerk named
Matt, and he treated her like garbage. I didn't know how anyone could do
that to someone like her. I asked my mom about it one day and she asked if I
had a crush on her. I never thought of it till then, but I did. It lasted
for about a year, till she started dating you. I realized that I would never
have a chance so I gave up. Right after that I started dating Liss, and
look at us now. I love her so much more than I would've loved Nic." Nick
said. Howie sighed. "Thanks Nick, you better go make sure Nic is ready. It's
almost 7" Howie said. "Hey, Howie, I hope you realize how lucky you are."
Nick said walking out. "Hey, Liss, is Nikki ready?" Nick asked. "Yep, how
do I look?" Nic asked walking out of an empty room. "Howie is going to rip
that dress off of you the second the ceremony is over." Nick said. Nic
laughed. "I hope so." she said, walking into Howie's room. Nick looked
shocked, then followed her in.The others followed them in. "Nic, you look
like an angel" Howie said, looking her up and down. "Are we ready to begin?"
The priest asked, walking in. Nic looked at Howie with pure fear in her
eyes. He gently took her hand and squeezed it. "It'll be ok" He whispered,
gently raising her hand to his lips. Nic sighed as all of her fear melted
away. Howie smiled and looked at the priest. "We're ready" He said softly.
