Savage Garden Poems
Savage Garden Live
The bulbs gleamed a broad smile,
With the mention of your name
The fog crept in,
Taking their seats,
Setting the warm electric air,
Waiting patiently for you to break the blackness...
Then suddenly...
The speakers announced your title
The moment you step out,
The stage burned with desire, the flames glowed
The banners waved to greet you,
While swaying with the sound waves
The lights stared you down,
And couldn't get enough of the view
The smart ones flashed to capture the moment
The disco balls danced with you,
In a drunken daze,
Spinning, feeling the magic of high
The guitars sang along,
As the drumsticks thrased their heads with the beat,
The techno sensation ran chills up their body
The presents jumped on stage,
Hoping to end up in your arms
The mic stood tall,
Waiting for the encore,
Waiting to hear your guitar cry
And your voice once more
The floors felt their hearts racing
surreal pulses,
All the while,
You paid them no mind
And simply performed,
For their applause when they cheered you on.

To Have The Honour Of Being
One of the words that slips pass your lips?
To be your clothes...
I'd wrap myself around you
Keep you warm through the night
Surrounded by your breath of life as your mic?
...you would have me in the palm of your hand
Indulge myself in you,
your ways, your thoughts, your problems
your world is mine
I pray I'm one of those many thoughts
For just one devine night
I wait for you to kiss me the way you do in my dreams
To be the first dreamer to conquer reality...
To be anything be me, if I would get me close to you.

Unpredictable Perfectionism
first car
taste of ice-cream
the smell of strawberries
a bow on a present
the essence of chocolate
Could they compare to your music?
I'd give it all up to hear you tug those strings
my heart strings...Play and
satisfy all the equations
and moody sensations
magic potions
glimmer in stars
flicker from a flame
spiraling winds
first kiss
taste of love
happiness in a child's eyes
the warmth of another being on a snowy night
... all likened to your talent
it's like the little things in life that make one wonder,
"Is really nobody perfect?"

Denying my Future of Earthly Delights
You are not the pilot that can take me to the moon and back
You say "I want you", but a thousand words couldn't
make you have me
You whisper "I love you truly, madly, deeply",
but boy carry on dancing with another
You don't own my universe, my violet mind
So break me, shake me, make me promises
but you'll never have me
It's lonely here in Santa Monica but I'll never cry
tears of pearls in this savage garden.
I will not obsess over you.

Your Voice
Make me float
with the clouds you make me wander
into sweet fields of cotton candy and roses
bring me flowered thoughts
of eternal love
words soft as infant heartbeat
kiss the tops of blue petals
turn pink, then red
love notes dance in comfort
around my fanatic desires
carressing skin
like petals in a gentle breeze
cherry kissed lyrics
could move hearts
of kings and queens
in a deck of cards
gone with the wind
to the land of my flowered mind
and never return to the ground again.

Sing
Do you sing for me?
Or three million other girls
You say everything I want to hear
You make me love you
You make me obsess
You make me long for your embrace
You brand your name on my weak, tender heart
Never coming back to heal the wound
It aches when all hope is gone
Then you sing again and burn my desires.
