Album Review--Alive and Dead--Six Feet Under

Alive and Dead Review

Alive and Dead builds on Haunted's approach to Death Metal music. The two new songs, "Insect" and "Drowning", are classic Six Feet Under. Their chosen cover on this album, "Grinder", by Judas Priest, seems strangely appropriate for them, and sounds great. Especially great on this album, are the live songs. "Beneath a Black Sky" and "Human Target", have never sounded better. "Suffering in Ecstacy" live, is overwhelming. The EP, is very impressive, and is a step up from Haunted. Everything sounds even better. Many of the advances in their style, are subtle, but also very apparent. My favorite songs off of here, are not surprisingly, the same as Haunted. "Beneath a Black Sky", "Human Target", and "Suffering in Ecstacy".
