Studio Notes & Comments: Although this was the last song to be recorded for the "Vanilla" sessions, it was actually the first song that Jimmy and I ever did together. The original (shorter) version was recorded on an old Fostex 4-track tape recorder about a year earlier. The lyrical theme is of a man wandering around the east-coast English town of Lowestoft, deep in thought. The lyrics are quite poignent, but actually meant with a sense of humour, as Jimmy thinks that his home town is a pretty funny place to be the subject of a song! It probably falls into the rock ballad catagory and is one of only a small number of EY songs that features keyboards in a prominent position. It also features Jimmy's legendary, trademark "nah nah nah nah" vocals on the chorus. The end section was greatly extended compared to the original version and is built around a long melodic & (hopefully) atmospheric guitar solo that gives the ending a somewhat Marillionesque feel. A good number on which to close the first chapter of Electric Yoghurt's story.
