Character History - Brighid Cerridwen

(please suspend your disbelief a little on this part, it's my first attempt at a character history so it's very very lame)

Brighid was born in British Columbia. When she was 16 years old both of her parents were killed in a plane crash. She was sent to a foster home where she met her future husband, Cernnunos. They married young and had a daughter, Morrigan, when she was 21. They were not a rich family and Brighid worked in a convenience store at night while Cernnunos watched the baby and worked by day. When Morrigan was still a baby Cernnunos began to get sick. Neither of them knew why he was getting sick and could not afford to take him to the hospital until it was too late. He had a genetic disease which had no known cure, His aunt Sheila had died strangely years earlier, which now they realized that she had the disease also. There was an experimental procedure which may be able to help but they would have to go to the United States for it and it was very expensive. This was his only chance but they could not afford the only procedure which could prolong his life. Brighid worked double shifts every day and sold many of their posessions but they could still not afford it and soon after Cernnunos died. Brighid was forced to move into a boarding house and since she still had a job she was allowed to keep her daughter. Shortly after Morrigan's 5th birthday she began to exhibit some of the same symptoms her father had. Brighid took her to the hospital where the doctors told her that Morrigan had the same genetic disease but a much severe case. Brighid was told that with treatment she could live into her thirties but then the treatment would begin to lose it's effect and she would die. Without treatment Morrigan could go at any time, as was the unpredictable effects of this disease.
Brighid was devistated. She started working extra hours in a desparate attempt to make some money. One night when she was at work a strange man came in. The man noticed how unhappy Brighid seemed and coaxed her into telling him what was wrong. She related the whole story to him and he was so moved by her sadness and the strength of her spirit that he offered a way that her daughter might live. He waited until she was off work and escorted her home. On the way he told her that he was a very wealthy person, but also very lonely and looking for an oppertunity to give back to the less fortunate. He told her that he used to be poor in Ireland until a rich woman took pity on him. Since then he's been searching for the perfect oppertunity to repay the kindness. He also said that she resembled the woman who had helped him. She was overjoyed that this stranger would help her daughter live. The two hurried over to the boarding house. Upon their arrival they are shocked to see an ambulance outside. Brighid immediately thinks the worst and rushes in to find Morrigan being wheeled away on a stretcher. She was unconsious and the woman who babysat for her was panicking. She kept rambling about Morrigan not feeling well and passing out. After an hour in the hospital Morrigan passed away. The stranger felt so sorry that he wasn't able to help in time. He felt that the least he could do was offer her a place to stay and to pay for any funeral arrangements and the hospital bills. She thanked him but said that if she wanted a funeral for Morrigan she wouldn't want her to be buried in BC, neither she nor Morrigan ever liked living here. The stranger chuckled.
"I've got the most beautiful and perfect location for your daughter. I own a small island in Nova Scotia, it's a beautiful location. A dear friend of mine is buried there also".
Brighid thought this was a good idea. Her foster parents took her on a trip to Halifax once and she loved it there. The stranger said that the island was only a short distance outside of Halifax and felt the area was very cleansing. Brighid graciously accepted his offer. She then realized that she didn't even know his name. He told her his name was Dagda.
Everything Dagda had told her about the area was true, the island was beautiful and she couldn't have picked a better place for her duaghter. However she didn't feel physically capable of withstanding the sorrow. She began to deteriorate and Dagda noticed this. He asked if there was anything he could do to help but she didn't think there was anything he coud do unless she were stronger. At that moment Dagda seemed lost in thought...
As the days passed Dagda became enamoured with Brighid. It was bcause of this that he felt he should confess that he had been keeping something from her that she should know about him. He explained that he he felt guilty that he had kept this from her because he always appreciated honesty. He explained to her that he was really a vampire. He explained that it was not like in the movies and that he was serious. He told her everything. After he was finished he told her that no harm woud ever come to her, the property was hers, that he would be leaving for Ireland and would never see her again. He was truthfully expecting her to be horrified and run away but he really didn't want to scare her, he only wanted to help. He was suprised when she asked him to stay. She was absolutely facinated. He did not know what to say. He asked her why and she said that at this time she needed someone who could give her strength to get through this time in her life. Still bewildered, Dagda agreed; anything to help her.
"You don't understand," Brighid said, "I mean I want you to make me a vampire like you."
"No, I'll do anything for you but not that" Dagda replied, "You really don't know what you ask of me."
Dagda became concerned with Brighid because her health was declining. Her grief was intense, she stopped eating and was weak. He knew that she was not physically capable of surviving her grieving period. She was like a flower that had been stepped on repeatedly. He couldn't stand watching her waste away so he gave in and embraced her. He couldn't stand it, he did not want to see her die.
Even though Dagda knew that she never would have been able to survive her own grief, her mourning process was severe but he figured since she had lost everyone who was ever important to her that any way she could get through this horible time couldn't hurt. However he was not going to let this turn into a big mistake so he began to instruct her in the ways of the Camarilla and he began by telling her his own story. His sire's name was Freya and lived in Dublin as a Gangrel. She was beautiful, had long red hair and in a way resembled Brighid. She was raised as a Camarilla Gangrel, as opposed to an independant. Dagda was her second child. Her first, Valkryie, had a bad temper and was prone to frenzy. He frenzied twice in the past, once in a fight with the Sabbat in which Freya's sire was killed, and the second time in a fight with the Tremere. Freya was killed in this battle and Valkryie became so furious he frenzied and he grew a wolf tail, which he found hard to hide at times. Dagda kept stressing to Brighid the fact that she must never allow herself to frenzy. Dagda left Ireland and travelled the world. Dagda gained a deep respect for nature and travelled to various places in the world were he was needed by other Gangrel, he came across this place helping a friend. In his later travels he came across the rainforests in British Columbia and settled in. He came across Brighid one night and was immediately interested in her because she resembles Freya, especially her red hair and her bright green eyes. Brighid was fascinated with the story and told Dagda she wished Freya was still alive because she would have loved to meet her.
Brighid was still mourning the loss of Morrigan when Dagda returned home from an outing with a gift for her. He handed her a box with a pure white kitten inside. He felt she needed something to lift her spirits, if only a little. The kitten was a stray he had rescued from the torment of a raccoon. She adopted the kitten and named it Pandora. The two were inseparable. Pandora became very efficient at ridding the island and their neighbour's property of small pests. One night, when Dagda was away, Pandora went missing. Brighid was frantic searching the house for the cat when she heard a knock at the door. At the door was their neighour holding a furry black cat. It seems Pandora was chasing a bird on the neighbour's roof and accidentally fell down the chimney. He told her that if the cat hadn't been wearing her collar he never would have recognized her. He was expecting Dagda to answer the door and didn't know that there was someone else living there. He had never met Brighid, she rarely went outside when he would have been awake to meet her. He introduced himself as Alex, an RCMP officer. Brighid admitted that she was a bit suprised that there was someone on the island but since he was a police officer she guessed it was ok, she laughed. She told him she was grateful for returning her pet and told Alex she was a close friend of Dagda and that he was letting her live there. Brighid and Alex became friends after that.
After Dagda's return they continued her teaching about the Camarilla, which included an extra long lecture on how the Sabbat are bad and should die. A year passed and Dagda recieved some unpleasant news from Valkryie. He was in trouble and claimed he was being framed for something he didn't do. He needed Dagda's assistance and he might be there for a while. Dagda explained this to Brighid and suggested that this might be a good oppertunity to introduce herself to the prince of the city.
