Character History - Redclaw
Redclaw is a child of The Mistress of Catkind. Redclaw hears the Mother in pain. Redclaw fights for her. This is Redclaw's tale.
Redclaw was born in the mountains 18 winters ago. Redclaw loved the mountains. Redclaw lived there with brother. Redclaw loved to explore the mountains with brother. When Redclaw was young humans came to the mountains and took her and her brother away. They killed mother and put brother in a cage. Mother fought bravely. Mistress of Catkind would is proud. Mother is with her now. Redclaw and brother were taken away in cages. The humans brought Redclaw and brother to a bad place. The place smelled bad. The humans that took brother and Redclaw were talking with some other humans. The other humans were looking at brother. The other humans gave the bad men something and then they took brother away. Redclaw was very angry. Redclaw growled and hissed and tried to break out. Redclaw called to brother. More men came and looked at Redclaw. They were going to take Redclaw away like brother. Redclaw had to get out. Redclaw lay down and made to look like Redclaw was dead. One man came over to open the cage, that's when Redclaw pounced. Redclaw bit and clawed and fought until the men are dead. Then Redclaw ran.
Redclaw ran for many nights until she found the mountains. Redclaw ran back to home and found mother dead. Redclaw cried. Redclaw cried for a long time, Redclaw did not see the clouds come. Clouds came and thunder crashed. Thunder crashed when Redclaw cried. The thunder crashed and spoke. Thunder asked why Redclaw cried. Redclaw said she cries for mother. Thunder said he saw Redclaw fighting. Thunder said Redclaw fought bravely. Thunder said Redclaw was still covered in the blood of the bad men. Redclaw looked at her paws but only saw her paws were dark. Thunder gave Redclaw her name but Redclaw didn't see the red on her claws. Redclaw can't see colours. Thunder thought that was funny. Thunder told Redclaw that he would send someone to teach Redclaw of the ways of the Mother. The River That Forks would come to teach Redclaw in one moon.
For one moon Redclaw waited patiently and then Redclaw saw another coming up the mountain. The other looked just like Redclaw but older. He said his name was The River That Forks. The River That Forks taught Redclaw many things and stayed with Redclaw for a winter. On the day The River That Forks was to leave, the Thunder returned. The Thunder spoke again. The Thunder asked what Redclaw had learned. Redclaw learned about the Mother and that she is dying. Redclaw learned about the Unmaker and that it is to be destroyed to save the Mother. Redclaw learned about the Litany and shifting and about the Spirit Lands. Thunder asked if Redclaw will fight for the Mother. Redclaw said yes. Thunder asked how. Redclaw said she will protect the Mother's mountain from Unmaker. The River That Forks bowed before Redclaw. The Thunder spread it's cloud wings and drifted away. The River That Forks followed the clouds.
That is Redclaw's story. Redclaw kept her promise to the clouds and to the Mother. Unmaker never touched Redclaw's mountain. Even the humans keep away. Unmaker will never touch Redclaw's mountain. In this Redclaw will not fail.
