Character History - Nik "Twitch" Andrews

Nikole Andrews was not a happy child. She never felt comfortable as a girl, she always felt she was meant to be a boy. Nik always wanted to play with the boys and do what the boys were doing. The boys shunned her as little boys always did, until she started dressing and acting like a boy. Gradually the other boys began accepting her as one of them. She began getting into video games when she was 7. She caught on very quickly and was very good. She made a habit out of whipping the other boy's asses at Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter. Then her father bought her a computer. Nik was in Heaven, she spent hours upon hours at it, learning the programs, how they worked, learning and exploring. She began taking electronic items apart to see how they worked and seeing if she could put them together differently to get different effects. She eventually bugged her dad enough to get a modem. She chatted with people from all over the world, she learned how to use the internet, she learned how to hack some low level security.... her mind soaked it up like a sponge. She started to get less and less sleep and her grades were starting to slip. Her parents became very concerned. She started skating to Tim Hortons on her way to school so she could buy some coffee and stay awake in class. This was the start of her caffene addiction, and the origin of her Handle "Twitch". She read books on electronics in the middle of class, she went to her school library during her lunchtime and, using the school computers, changed her grades electronically. The teachers didn't know how she was doing it, and she never got caught. One thing she never expected to happen, she got a scholarship. Must have been all the grades she altered, she learned next time to alter them realistically... When she arrived at the Technical University she found her elements... electronics and technogeeks. That and horrid amounts of caffene. She learned many programming languages, learned many hacking techniques, took many caffene pills. She became quite famous amongst hackers for several viruses and on many online games, always as "Twitch." Of course they all thought she was a guy, and she preferred it that way. She never let on that she was a girl and actually got offended if anyone suspected she wasn't a man, but this didn't happen often. One fellow hacker in particular took a special interest in him, a hacker by the name of "Blue Screen of Death". They met in person over coffee several times, they of course both had their laptops open on the table at Second Cup, showing off their hardware etc. They played games like Alien Vs. Predator, Warcraft, and Quake head to head often, and of course Blue Screen always won. Even when Blue Screen was playing the human and Twitch was playing the Alien. Twitch could never figure out why he always won. Several months of this went on as Twitch continues to lose to this mysterious hacker genious. He couldn't understand how he kept losing to this guy. One evening something extraordinary happened. Twitch was playing Alien Vs. Predator against Blue Screen. Everything was going fine until Twitch noticed an opening in a section of the wall from an explosion earlier in the game. Twitch, as the Alien, crawled through the narrow passageway for fifteen minutes and ended up and took the chance to attack. He didn't know that Blue Screen was planning an ambush but hadn't anticipted Twtich to appear from above. Twitch the killing blow to Blue Screen A week passed and he had not heard from Blue Screen. He wasn't too worried about the lack of communication, he was too busy helping helping a friend of his who was holding a rave. He was helping set up the electronics and the lights, doing tech work and the like. It helped keep her busy. The night of the rave everything was going as planned. The music was pumping, the lights were superb. Twitch was out back setting up some new lights for the next DJ when Blue Screen appeared and said that there was something he needed to show him. He took Twitch out back and explained that he wasn't normal. Twitch told him that he wasn't normal either, nobody is normal, there was no such thing. He told Blue Screen that it really didn;t matter that he wasn't normal, it didn't matter what you are, it's what you can do that matters. Blue Screen confided that he was really a vampire. Twitch confided that he was really a she. Blue Screen said he already knew and it didn't matter. He told Twitch that he could make him a vampire also, like a human with an upgrade. That was the keyword Twitch couldn't resist. The promise of an upgrade and his natural insatiable curiosity got him hooked. He agreed.

Blue Screen of Death embraced Twitch that evening at the rave, while a song by Fluke was playing in the background.

After the rave Blue Screen began to instruct him on some of the finer points of feeding, quickly learning that Twitch's obvious caffene addiction was a problem which amplified itself after the embrace. Lessons on the Camarilla and Kindred society quickly followed. Twitch found his talents growing more rapidly with his new "upgrade". He took full advantage of this by hacking into the networks of several corporations and creating minor mischef and then covertly advertising his software expertise in firewalls and other hacker protection. After being hired on he would create personalized and individiual software with very secure protection from further hackers, always leaving his employers very impressed with his work and singing his praises to other such companies, and of course always leaving a tiny back door for him to enter anytime he wanted that nobody but him would ever be able to detect. This was almost a cliche, but it was his scam and, suprisingly, it worked very well. Twitch quickly adopted his scam and soon was making a very comfortable living off the big fat paychecks from several unsuspecting corporations. Those grateful corporations in turn reccomended him to all their friends. He made connections all over the world and was able to do the majority of his business transactions from anywhere he wanted but he would always travel to the city the corporation was in, on the company's bill of course. Recently Twitch picked up several jobs in Halifax, so he packed up his hardware and hopped a plane for Nova Scotia.
